Questions for Robin:

1. What in his profile made him seem new age? Just curious.

2. You wear cords in Texas?

Guess my mind's view of Texas is a little different from reality. To me, anything south of Virginia is hot.

Nice avatar........FINALLY! If you take your time with men like you take your time posting an avatar......

We get below freezing here in the winter, Jo. It was warmer the past few days, but today it was in the 40s when I came to work. Supposed to be a high around 50. (And thanks, on the photo. I'm camera-shy still, but I had no choice in this one. And I liked it so much, I figured I might as well cave and use it.)

And he said he likes stuff like New Age music. "I'm honest, spiritual, vegetarian, clean cut and a lover of nature." ... "I'm looking for someone different and more than I've ever experienced! More sensuality, more maturity, more honesty. I have a lot to give mentally and physically and I'd like the same in return. I believe in Karma and I'm interested in intimacy which I believe comes from truthfulness." ...

Anyone who talks in his profile about spirituality and karma sounds kinda new age to me. :)

LOVE the avatar! You look so PREEETTTTYYYY!

New guy...at least you could wear birkenstocks and wouldn't have to shave your legs...I'M SO JUST KIDDING! I'm reading new agey too, which is fine, just not my thing...don't know about you!

You're my hero on the treadmill, I just have to get in the habit like you have! Maybe I can bribe myself!

I do wonder, though, if he might become MORE curious about things as he gets out more and gets exposed to more. But maybe you need to be born with that kind of curiosity. I just don't know.

I know I'm a little late chiming in here (haven't had time to read much lately)......anyway, is it possible that JDG is curious and wants more exposure and that is the reason he contacted you? I don't know????? Just a thought.

BTW, I love the avatar and I think you should post some new pics in the Studio. I, for one, would love to see them.

My secret is to do it first thing, before I actually realize I'm doing it. :)

I'm not new age-y at all; i guess i'm more OLD age-y. Sigh. But I'll at least talk to him. Who knows? I might prefer new age to boring. And smothering. I had no idea I was independent, but apparently I am. Today he called me - at work - because, he said, he was worried that he hadn't heard from me. Since yesterday. This just doesn't seem to be going well lately. Sigh. I want my life as a hermit back.

Tonight I'm sort of going to test him. I plan to mention the Alabama tornado and see if he has any clue what I'm talking about. Because if he hasn't heard about it? I think that might be it. It's one thing to be so clueless about Britney Spears, even if she IS all over the place. It's another to not hear about something like that.

Hee. He's going to be out of luck there. Last time I was in a cornfield is when I got stung by a bee and nearly died. So ... no. Nature and I are not friends.

I dunno...sounded kinda' new age-y to me...

New Guy's profile reminded me of two bumper stickers:

My Dogma ate your Karma
My Karma ran over your Dogma

;) I guess you'll just have to check him out to see if either of those apply!

Now see...if you would employ this tactic with dating, the Peck Heard 'Round The Forum would have occurred much sooner!!

So anyway, last night. First of all ... you know how at improv comedy places, pretty much the first thing they do is shine a spotlight on someone in the audience and start talking to them? Anyone want to guess who they picked???? Sigh.

But other than that, it was a pretty typical date for us. I mentioned Alabama. No clue. Tornado? No clue? Hit a school and killed at least 20 people? "Wow, that's big news!" Um, exactly.

So I'm thinking not this coming weekend (when I won't see him much anyway), but the weekend after. Which gives me time to figure out what the heck to say and work up the courage to say it. Meanwhile, I sorta joined eHarmony and already got some interesting matches, who I hope will respond. One describes his profession as "animal repairman," so I'm guessing that means he's a vet. And he and another guy gave a couple of the same smart-ass answers I did to some of their questions, so that's promising (well, when you ask what five things someone can't live without, you have to assume they're going to say food, water and air). And what's something only your best friends know about you? Why would I tell a bunch of strangers that??!!

Ha. Thanks, Tim, although I really don't mind. I'm just glad it was some sort of glitch. :)

So back to me. :) I decided it's wrong to have him help my friend move and then break up with him. But I've also decided I definitely need to break things off. So here's the plan. I'm going to bail on tonight because I really just don't feel like doing anything. And I'm going to suggest we meet for dinner one night this week after work, and I'll just do it then. Which still gives me a couple of days to figure out what to say and how to say it.
