There was one more, earlier. But yeah, pretty much. I'm telling you, no physical contact. Usually a hug goodbye, but that's it.

Not much to report. I'm down 1 of the pounds I gained, so yay for that. I've been awful about running because it's taken me days to get over being so tired from the blues thing plus I'm still working on my time management with the new schedule. But today I made a frittata to cover the next couple of breakfasts, and tonight I'll get dinner ready for the next few nights, so I can have time in the mornings to run. Although it would help if I could get my fence fixed, so I don't have to stay outside to supervise the dogs.

Which brings me to the second thing. JDG came over yesterday to try to fix the fence. Worked for a few hours, but ran out of time when it became clear it was more complicated than he expected (posts set in concrete and such). So I took him to dinner after. But how sweet was it of him to even try?

So now I'm waiting for the fence people to call back. They're swamped because so MANY fences fell in the wind, but I'm hoping they can get to mine pretty soon. If not, he says he'll come back and finish. The plan is, instead of trying to removed the concrete with the broken post in it (the post snapped when the fence fell), to put new posts on either side of it. But that means digging two more holes and pouring concrete, and then letting it sit a couple of days, and then attaching the fence. Yeesh.

Oh, also, he did fine with coming over and taking care of the dogs for me Friday night. The little slips of paper I stuck in my bedroom and office doors were undisturbed, so there was apparently no snooping. And I'm assuming he didn't run off and copy my key or anything.

This week we're supposed to go to Texas de Brazil (a churrascaria; at least it'll be easy to go low-carb there) because he got a coupon for a free dinner from them for his birthday, and to a comedy show on Friday night after work.

Sounds like he's growing on you, Robin. Even if there is no romance on the horizon it sounds like you met a great guy to have in your life, in whatever role. Men are handy to have around sometimes!

Very true. And I'm not convinced yet that there's NOT romance on the horizon. I think it's partly that I'm extremely slow about these things, and apparently he is, too. Or he's just giving me lots of space/time.

You know, it's not bad to be slow about these things. Sometimes people are really, really fast about jumping into bed together and it can ruin the relationship. You will get no pressure from me to move any faster. Take your time, as you are obviously doing, and really get to know him and let him know you. You will have a really solid foundation. And now that I'm older, I know nothing is as wonderful as solid, steady love - passion is great, but it ebbs and flows. You need something underneath to see you through the troubled times.

Oh, and there's also a wonderful little thing called anticipation....

Yeah, I'm certainly in no hurry. And he's not pushing at all - still hasn't even held my hand. It's kind of odd, considering we're seeing an awful lot of each other, and he took care of my dogs the other day, and spent hours working on my fence yesterday, etc. And I don't know WHAT is wrong with me, but we just made a date for April (the Ducks are in town, and he still has two hockey tickets coming to him).

Robin,

I have been away for awhile. The reason I kissed him is I wanted to see if he would come out of his shell. I figured what the hell do I have to lose. And like I said it was the best thing I could of done. My husband and I compliment each other. I am very hyper and he is very calm and shy. He levels me out.

I think it is great that you gave him a kiss on the cheek. What was his reaction. Was he in schock.

I think we're exclusive, but not by choice or any arrangement or anything. I just haven't been asked by anyone else (sigh) and I can't imagine he's asked anyone else since he asks me for just about every night.

He looked shocked, then looked at me and said, "A kiss?" And then gave me a quick kiss. On the lips, natch. (At this rate, and the way he's planning stuff, our first real kiss will be at our wedding!)

This made me think of some movie (which I cant recall at the time) but it was funny ;)

I am a firm believer in taking things slow. Call me Old-Fashioned but in this day and age.. well lets just IMHO I think things are rushed nowadays.

How long have y'all been seeing each other?

LOL Doc---I dont think I would want to date again.. have you seen guys our age lately? Half of them act 16 and the other half act 70(no offense to any age group meant)

Ummmmm, I believe I'm considerably older than both of you!!!! (He falls more on the 70 scale than 16. Then again, I was falling asleep at the blues club Friday night.)

Oh, and we first talked in December, when I told him I couldn't meet him because I was going through everything with Maggie and my uncle. That was when he offered me his frequent-flier miles so I could fly out there (I said no). Then we actually met in early January. Right after that, I left for California and a week later, he picked me up at the airport with flowers, Gatorade and soup (I had the stomach flu).
