Back from Vegas and checking in. I am exhausted just from reading about everything you're coping with, --the new job/schedule, the jdg, the dog, your uncle and the whole mishpocha. You are a rock!
I have to say that there continue to be similarities between jdg and my husband, who was pretty narrow (engineer!!!) when I met him, and whose sense of humor was pretty much stuck at college, year 2. The latter was not improved by spending most of his working hours with other engineers and Naval submariners. But, at the life-stage I was at, that counted less than sincerity, devotion, honesty, and kindness. Living with me has exposed him to a lot of things, which has definitely widened his horizons culturally and geographically. Of course, it helped that he was open to the experiences. He still has a pretty sophomoric sense of humor
, but no one's perfect. But only you know what your hierarchy of needs (to quote Maslow) is. I'm sure whatever decision you make will be the right one.
Hugs,
