Thanks, Laura. You're so close!!!! I know you're struggling right now, but you can do it! Believe me, if I can stick with it and get those stubborn pounds to leave, ANYone can.

And LOL, Alex. I've finally learned to not stress about it and just wait it out. I seem to have an issue once or twice a week, and then it just goes away on its own. Literally.

So today I went and found a few sweaters and this Dillard's clearance store everyone raves about. Good prices, but a pain in the neck to comb through all the crap (I must have seen 1,500 shrugs today). Fell in love with two pairs of jeans, but of course they didn't have my size. I tried on an 8 and they just fell off (they were designer-type jeans, so they make 'em bigger, I think, because I totally could have taken a 4). No belts, though, so I'll have to look somewhere else for that.

Then I really didn't want to hit the gym because shopping took so much longer than I expected. But I scarfed down a BFL bar and stopped at a minimart for some water, and went to the gym anyway. It wasn't my best workout, but I figure half-#ssed is better than no-%ssed at all.

Then it was off to the supermarket to diversify a bit. So I got some olive oil to add to my fat-free, sugar-free dressing (I know that's weird, but I like the taste of the dressing), some avocado to have when I need some extra fat and some little individual packs of pistachios to have as a snack/meal. Oooh, and best of all, I got BAGGED SPINACH!! I almost did a happy dance right there in the produce section.

(I realize no one cares about any of this. I think I'm just bored. For anyone still reading, I apologize.)

Thanks, Ark and Laura!

129.2 today. Odd thing is the Tanita says 129.6 and usually it's a pound and a half higher than the other one (I know, talk about scale-obsessed; I use both because the Tanita measures body fat, but it's always weighed higher than the old scale, so I couldn't bring myself to stop using the other one).

No run today. I need to do some cooking and food prep before work, so I figure today's a better day off than tomorrow.

Today's menu:
Egg Beaters, spinach, feta, tortillas
Broccoli soup
Soy tortilla chips and hummus
Salad, chicken, feta
Revival soy crisps
Pudding

Totals: 966 calories (I'm edging my way up), 51% protein, 24% carb (89 grams with 32 grams fiber), 25% fat.

129.0, and 129.2 on the Tanita. Weird. But I'm thinking of just using the Tanita if this keeps up. Maybe the old scale isn't working right.

Anyway, did the treadmill today. Didn't feel like it when I was lying in bed and just wanted to sleep more, but once I got up, I was ready to go. Yay. Food the same, unless it ends up a free day (a friend of mine just got hired by the paper and moved here, and he wants to go try this pizza place nearby so I told him I'd go with him one night).

OK, so it ended up being a free day. But not pizza. I had a big, sloppy cheeseburger and fries, followed by some chocolate (sorry, guys).

Later on I'm going to have some soy chips and hummus (but more than my little ounce I usually have, since it's free day) and then I'll have my usual pudding when I get home tonight. So not a HUGE free-day binge, which is good. Next week I'm thinking I'll have either Chinese or Mexican food for dinner and just a BFL bar or something for my free day. There's no rule that says I have to pig out every week just because it's free day.

I should have quit eating halfway through the burger, though, since I was already full. Or full enough. I didn't, but at least this time I thought about it.

131.6 (Tanita says 131.8; there definitely seems to be a problem with the old scale).

Treadmill, but a slightly shorter workout today. I tried to bump it up too much and run more of the time, and I ended up exhausting myself too early. Oh, well.

Food about the same as usual. Two Medi-meals (chili and pudding), my usual Egg Beaters breakfast and salad dinner, plus a one-serving bag of pistachios and a bag of Glenny's soy crisps.

i had some for a while. i'm actually not a big fruit lover anyway. so i had a week or two when i had a peach or some berries each day. got my fill and was done with it. (although i had some peach cobbler last week on my free day. does that count?)

plus right now i'm lowering my carbs per my doc's suggestion so i can't add fruit without getting rid of my low-carb tortillas. which have a lot more fiber, so i kind of depend on them.

maybe when i increase my calories. they're still very low, and i was all set to start increasing them, but i wanted to wait and just do the lower-carb thing for a couple of weeks to see how it compares to the BFL food plan. it wouldn't be a fair comparison if i increased calories at the same time.

i want to go one more week at the lower carb level, and then increase my calories. either with 40 percent carbs like on BFL or 25 percent or so, depending on my results at that point.

True. Although I still haven't had any avocado, as much as I want it. Can't seem to fit it in yet. I'm still getting the hang of the new balance.

I'm used to either just straight low-carb, with all the fat I want, or the low-fat thing. It's especially hard right now while I'm trying to incorporate some Medifast products every day to use them up. They don't fit at ALL with the doc's plan, so I find myself starting with a couple of those a day, and then spending most of the day trying to balance them out.

I haven't seen a difference yet, but it's only been a week (less than that, actually). And it's included two free days. I'll need at least another week to give it a fair test.

130.4. Not bad so soon after free day.

I thought about running today in addition to the gym but decided against it. Today I meet with the trainer again, and will do my upper-body workout.

Food will be exactly the same as yesterday. Because I'm lazy and don't want to think about it.
