Thanks! And exactly. One bad week is NOTHING in the scope of a lifetime. I've certainly had plenty of 'em (and am likely to have another when I'm in Denver this month, with my birthday right afterward). The key seems to be to not let that week become a month, and then six months, and so on, till before you know it, you're back where you started.

Even in that bad week, I bet you made SOME good choices.

123.8. Woo hoo!! That was after a couple of highe-sodium days, too, so I think I might actually make it to 123 by Tuesday (which would mean I'd still be losing 1 pound a week). The BodyBugg is my new BFF (Or, as Naomi Judd said yesterday on "Can You Duet," my BBF. Ha.)

Congratulations Robin! !!!!

Body Bugg....I was visiting with a friend the other day and she was wearing a Body Bugg on her arm. She really likes how well it tracks her daily activites and food.

I love mine, but I wish there were some magical way it could log my food without my having to type it in!

BTW, another episode that tells me I'm no longer an emotional eater: I've been REALLY stressed at work lately. Yesterday it was also what would have been my mom's birthday, and I hadn't slept well in a couple of nights, and things at work came to a head just before I left the office. But even though I drive past a million fast-food places on my way home, and even though I have THREE big containers of light ice cream at home, plus a few smaller ones, plus a bag of chocolate chips, a bunch of brownie mix, jars of peanut butter, etc. ... I didn't touch any of it. I called someone so I could vent, and then I had my planned dinner and dessert and was done. Got up this morning and ran, even though I still had trouble sleeping. And then today had a difficult, frustrating meeting with someone at work ... in a room with six boxes of still-hot pizza and a box of doughnuts. We were in there until 2 p.m., long past my normal lunch time. But I got through the meeting, and went back to my office for my usual salad, and then went for a long walk with a friend even though it was really hot out.

Robin, I'm sorry to read that you've been having so many stressful things happen lately but I do want to congratulate you on how you handled all the stresses without turning to food. I'm very happy for you and pray I'll be able to say the same thing soon.......very soon (before I gain more weight back).

The Body Bugg....inputing the food and the nutritional information was the one thing that my friend hates about it. Otherwise she really likes the gizmo. :)

Ha. Yeah, it helps that I was already logging food most days on The Daily Plate. I wish the BB site was as good as that one, but luckily I tend to eat the same things over and over, so once I've entered the stats, they're all there for me (plus you can just pick something like "same thing I ate yesterday" for lunch).

T, I hope you can reach this point soon, too!! It took me a long time to get here, but I really believe that if I can overcome it, just about anyone can, eventually.

And the good news is I finally got a decent night's sleep last night, and woke up much less stressed - and with no guilt over eating junk. Now if the scale would just cooperate ...

Hey Robin! Just checking in with my local MF success story. I still haven't purchase a body bugg, but we are about to start running again since it is cooling off. My next 5K will be the 13th of September in Addison. I think it is during Octoberfest, so it should be fun. I have shelved the half marathon plans for now.

Very cool on the 5K! I'm thinking about doing the Pumpkin Run in Grand Prairie; I did it a couple of years ago, but it was still hot in October and the run doesn't start till 9 a.m. (the walk starts earlier, which is stupid to me).

I just got back from a week in Denver, and of course I'm up a few pounds. I'm hoping it's just salt/bloat, though. I had some treats while I was away, but nothing crazy and I got a LOT of exercise most days (like running/walking 5.5 or 6 miles in the morning on the treadmill, then walking another 3 or 4 miles outside). I'm hoping to shed it by Wednesday, because I'll be having a very diet-UNfriendly lunch for my bday and a special dinner the following Saturday and a lunch on Sunday. And then I think I'm done till Thanksgiving. :)

You work hard enough-treat yourself a little and by all means celebrate your birthday! I hear that Denver is one of the most outdoor exercise friendly towns. I would love to move there!

Well, I'm hoping to limit it to three "bad" meals. Twisted Root tomorrow for lunch (but I'm splitting a burger with a friend because they're all half-pounders, and that partly helps justify my wanting to try the "Fried Ride" platter o' fried foods). And then Cacharel on Saturday for Restaurant Week, and lunch Sunday for my bday and because I told my brother I'd try another frozen-custard place for him (he wants to leave engineering to open a frozen-custard shop; I went to one in Denver to try theirs and talk to the owner).

I've dropped down a bit since I got back Saturday night, but not all the way yet. Sigh. And unless I'm at 123 tomorrow morning, I guess I won't be seeing it again till sometime next week at the earliest. Oh, well.

Thanks, T! Somehow they're just not as exciting as they used to be. ;) Although the chocolate souffle on Saturday night has me a little excited.
