131.2. I actually went to the gym, just like I planned. Yay, me!! The personal trainers were booked all day (ummm, nice of them to tell me I'd have a session on my first visit but NOT tell me to book it ahead; not that I could have, anyway, since they didn't know for sure when the place was going to be open). Anyway, I have an appointment for Wednesday afternoon. In the meantime, I just sort of hit the machines with no real plan because I forgot to bring my BFL book. So did some lower body, some upper body, definitely worked up a sweat and pushed myself. I was there maybe 45 minutes.

Food plan got a little messed up because I forgot to bring something for after my workout. I had a Q-Smart bar with me, so that's all I had.

But I think the basic plan is:
Egg Beaters, peppers/onions, 1/2 ounce ham, 2 low-carb tortillas, 1 tablespoon low-fat cheese
Q-Smart bar
Small peach
Salad with shrimp
BFL bar
RTD
Pudding

Calories: 924, 40% protein, 37% carb, 23% fat. Ratios are good and, yes, I've lowered my calories some lately since my workouts have been shorter and a little less intense.

On Wednesday, I want to talk to the trainer and get his/her opinion on how best to reach my goals. I'm not sure I CAN get the rest of the way with just exercise or if maybe I should go back on program. Then again, I wasn't losing what I want to lose on the program anymore, either, so maybe not. I should probably just stick with the plan for now and give the gym a chance to work. I do want to keep my calories lower for a while, though, and just keep the ratios and the free day.

Meanwhile, the Lucky jeans fit again, maybe a little better than they did in the dressing room. And I already got the eBay pair of NY Laundry jeans I ordered (don't know if I mentioned this, but I fell in love with a pair at Plato's Closet, except the 8 was HUGE on me. So I found a 6 on eBay, new with tags. They're actually a tad big, too, but I think I can live with them for now.)

131.2. I'm guessing it's a bit higher than reality because of my workout yesterday. I'm good and sore today, so I know my muscles are hanging onto some water. At the same time, I flexed just to see, and even though I still have the droopy underarm thing going, I have some decent guns, too. Woo hoo.

The workout part I'm struggling with now is the cardio. So I decided I need to invest the money and buy a treadmill. I went online and researched, and just ordered one. I think it's the only way I can do the BFL-recommended cardio plan or even get my heart rate up decently. I don't run - at least not outside, although I'm going to jog some on the treadmill - and the videos are getting to be a problem. Either they don't get my heart rate up enough or I can't keep up because I'm not coordinated enough. Or both. And since I'm doing weights at the gym, I can move my weight bench out and use that space (plus it folds up). I can't wait to get it!!

Almost forgot:
924 calories, 43% protein, 35% carbs, 22% fat.
Egg Beaters with 3 cups fresh spinach, 1 tablespoon low-fat feta, 2 low-carb tortillas
Medifast oatmeal with 3 ounces raspberries
Non-plan soy crisps
Salad with half a chicken breast, 2 tablespoons low-fat feta
BFL bar
Medifast pudding

129.9. Still sore, although the legs are better and now it's just my arms. I'm declaring this a day of rest, because I haven't had one in over a week and didn't realize it. Oops.

Sad day because of 9-11. I'm avoiding most of the TV coverage, but I had to read a bunch of the stories last night. This was what brought me back to newspapers after some time away. I remember being so frustrated, sitting home watching the coverage. I needed to do something, so I called the Post and asked if they could use some help.

Anyway. Food today:
Egg Beaters with spinach and feta, 2 low-carb tortillas
Oatmeal with raspberries
Soy crisps
Salad with chicken and feta
BFL bar
Pudding

Same as yesterday, in other words. 920 calories, 43% protein, 36% carb, 22% fat. I'd like to stay under 1000 calories for a while. And this week there's nothing extra I really want, so I'm considering skipping my free day. I think if I have anything, it'll just be a slice of pizza and a salad or something like that.

Yeah, I apologize for the food references. I'm thinking of leaving them out, since I have them in FitDay already. I've decided to leave Free Day till Saturday, when I have some sort of skin-care "party" to go to, plus Costco is having a reception for American Express cardholders. So I don't know that I'll have much, but I want to leave the day open so I can eat whatever's available that looks good.

As for today, 130.2. Did Walk Away the Pounds Walk & Kick. Not terribly challenging, but it did get my heart rate up a little. I think next time I'll do it with hand weights to get a tougher workout. I can't wait for my treadmill!

And I posted that new pic on my jdate profile. I'm going to be pretty upset if I don't get any responses. I posted the photo from last April and got nada. It's not doing much for my self-image. Sigh.

Jewish online dating service. I need all the help I can get. And I'm telling ya, getting NO responses from my last photo was a huge blow. They say any photo is better than none at all when you're a woman, but apparently not in my case. Sigh. Thanks for making me feel like some kind of ogre, jdate.

And OK, in that case, here's today:
Egg whites (ran out of Egg Beaters) with peppers and onions, a tablespoon of low-fat feta and 2 low-carb tortillas
Medifast broccoli soup and a small peach
Soy crisps
Salad with chicken and low-fat feta
BFL bar
Pudding

Virtually the same totals as the past few days. Around 930 calories, 42% protein, 37% carb, 21% fat. Or something along those lines.

Thank you. And yeah, only Jewish guys for me, even though I don't want kids or anything (not that I could have 'em at this point anyway). It sounds stupid, but aside from all the other reasons, I can't imagine asking a non-Jew to forgo a Christmas tree. And yet there's no way I could ever have one in my home. (I told you it would sound stupid. But it actually was a big bone of contention between my totally nonreligious brother and his nonreligious, but not Jewish, wife. I think even he was surprised by how much it bothered him.)

Please do. They're all too young or too old (ummm, including the ones my age  ). Or not interested.

So meanwhile, one more small step in Project Self-Image. I just noticed in the bathroom at work that my new favorite jeans - Lee One True Fit boot-cut stretch jeans in size 5/6 - don't leave me with any muffin tops. So I think my stomach isn't as bad as I think it is (I have 'em when I sit, of course, but I think everyone does).

And did I mention these are my new favorite jeans? They're not too low but they're also not mom jeans, they fit perfectly in the thigh, they're not too tight or loose in the butt, they're not too short, they have 1 percent Lycra so they stretch but don't get stretched out after a few hours and they even have some sort of vertical weave so they're extra-slimming and -lengthening. Love, love, love. I want another pair but I absolutely canNOT buy anything else for a while.
