Well I think being happy with yourself the way you are is a worthy thing to work towards. "Extreme measures" sounds pretty intimidating. You deserve to be proud of where you are and just enjoy the benefits of all your hard work. Congratulations on 'arriving!'

Don't let the last little bit be a bother. Looking over your journal, you've done incredible and should only be feeling pride. Its great to come to this site, see the successes such as yourself, and know for sure that its possible and not a total gimmick.

Thanks, guys. I'm working on accepting it, but I'm not really there yet. For now, I'm stopping deliveries from the other plan since I have so much food to use. My last-ditch effort is to keep my calories stable but drop my carbs a little bit. I think that's probably better for me, anyway.

Time for a monthly check-in, I suppose. Weight's up a couple of pounds, thanks to more than a week of vacation, but it's dropping back down. My exercise was on target the whole time I was gone, but I was a little loose about food.

I also did the Zoo Run again on Saturday, and beat my last 5K time by over a minute despite a ton of hills and trouble passing the slower people early on (because it starts at the zoo, and the road was completely clogged with people, with no sidewalks or anything to use for passing). Anyway, did it in 37:09. Next time, I'm hoping for under 36 minutes (but it might be awhile, since it's getting too hot for that kind of thing). For women in my age group, I finished 30th out of 63 (of the people who wore chips, of course). I was 983 out of 1,438 overall.

Hey! I was thinking about you a couple of weeks ago. Wondering how you were doing. Glad you're still doing those things you do. Next time you run, you can better your time by shouting "oh my word, is that an escaped lion?!" or something like that and maybe people will get out of the way. Just feeling goofy at the moment, ignore me. Nice to hear from you!

Ha. It would at least make the other people go faster, maybe. :)

And I'm here. Still lurking on occasion, but I haven't really had anything to contribute.

Hey Robin The medifast runner <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/18/18_3_110.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D18%252F18_3_110%2526uiv%253D3.0/image.gif"> So glad you checked in. And as for the people in front of you You feel like I feel when I am behind a car that is doing 20 in a 50. But sad thing is you are getting the benefit of exercise. I get the benefit of pulling my hair out because I am getting so angry at the Driver in front of me. Good job on beating your record

Ha. Well, I do THAT, too. Although I think I have more patience for slow drivers than I do for the people in my way at the race. At least when I'm driving, I'm not being timed. Ha.

I also managed to get through the anniversary of my mom's death AND my aunt's heart surgery Monday without anything even resembling a binge. Yay for that.

(And I was going to say that what I do doesn't really qualify as running. But since I finished in the top half of my age group, I changed my mind. I may not be a FAST runner, but I think at this point I really AM a runner.)

Is running as wonderful as it sounds? Or is it the symbolism of running - that only true athletes, people who are really fit, run? I confess that I do sometimes think that if I could run, I'd feel stronger and healthier. When you're playing outside with your daughter and can't even jog a few steps without a pain in your side, you feel about the opposite of strong and healthy.

Truth be told, I hate the actual running. What I love is knowing that I CAN run, and the idea of really pushing myself. And, of course, the feeling when I'm done. :) My heart rate still goes crazy (it was 204 during the race) and I just POUR sweat, but it makes me feel athletic.

And yeah, being able to literally run across the street or something when I'm in a hurry (without getting out of breath or anything) is pretty cool. Makes me feel fit.

LOL. They say the same thing on the program I did a few months ago. Anyway, race photos are coming as soon as they send me them. There were two nice, clear shots of me. I look like I'm dying, but of course I ordered them anyway. Because they're of ME. Running.

So it's as I suspected. Actually running sucks, but knowing you can do it if you have to is empowering. I've gone so far in the past as to look up a program to get yourself into running. I really should start with just a walking program I suppose. Whenever I start anything - that'll be the day.

Well, yeah, "you have to learn to walk before you can run" and all that. I wouldn't recommend just getting up and running; I walked a LONG time before I started running, and I still walk a lot of the time. Plus aren't you the one with the aversion to sweating? That might be a problem. ;)
