Hmmm, someone on my other board said the same thing, so maybe. Although I'm still 3 pounds above where I was a few weeks ago, so I don't know. I sure don't SEE any change since then, not that I'd expect to.

And it's true, we do all check other food. The person eating Lean Cuisine next to me was totally eyeing my food. And the one with the pizza today was the same one who was on the doctor-supervised shake program here. (And OK, I'm the one who counted how many slices she took. But she's a friend and I'm a little worried. She lost all that weight and still has no idea how to eat, and here she was with four big slices of pizza.)

And I'm sure the producers pick people for a variety of reasons, including how much drama someone will bring or whether they have a compelling story. Which is how Vicky got there. And Michelle/Renee (plus because those two are gorgeous and will look amazing at the finale. It does seem like most of 'em look better than average once they've lost the weight (except Ali, who I thought looked horrible at the finale but looks much better now; I think she lost more weight at first, maybe to win the prize, and either gained a little back or it just redistributed so her face filled out a little).

Oh, and down another pound today. So only 2 pounds above my pre-illness low.

Hey Robin....just got caught up reading your journal. Good job on resisting the pizza....that is one of my favorite foods. If my husband is going to make a frozen pizza (which I don't keep in thouse), I ask that he make it when I am not here. That's a hard one for me.

Regarding the Biggest Loser....I so wanted Renee to stay. I love Renee and Michelle and hope Michelle wins. I agree they are both gorgeous. I find it odd how Heba has toned down the last couple of weeks. That's been amazing. And I hope that when America pickes the third finalist....that Vickie is part of that vote and she does not win. I wish Amy had been smart and voted her off. That was a big big mistake on Amy's part.

Maintenance is going to be hard for me, but this time around I am going to be more vigilant. I sucked at it that last time. I hate the fact that this will be a life long battle....but I guess I am coming to grips with it which is the first step. Thanks for sharing your struggles with us.

It IS unfair that we have to be so vigilant our whole lives, and that we have to fight this forever. I try to remember that EVERYone has struggles, whether they're with food or something else.

Re: the pizza, I was lucky in that I DO get to have a form of pizza on my program. So knowing I could go home and eat my special fat-free pizza with turkey pepperoni and veggies helped. And having my own food, and food smells, helped, too.

Speaking of struggles, I'm STARVING today. Sigh. I've moved around my meals and snacks a bit to try to eat more of my food during the day today, so hopefully that will help. I'm guessing it's because I've been so much better about working out, so I'm running on more of a calorie deficit than usual.

I may be wrong but I suspect that most women less than 150 are not eating everything theyd like to eat unless they exercise a whole lot; those less than 130, even moreso. Everyone must make their choice in life on that - either eat far less than what one would like with regard to dietary "fluff", or maintain a lean body as much as possible. Personally, I've ridiculously chosen more dietary fluff at times, not liking to do without it. And that's led to a rather deprecated sense of self, as well, because what I admire in others really is the kind of glamour that pairs effortlessly (it appears) with a nice body, which clothing can't compensate for. You're my beacon of success.

Just checking in on my race. Finished in just over 38 minutes, including the part where I had to run through horrible smoke from a buidling fire about half a block from the course. I was 63rd out of 118 women in my age group (the women who had chips, that is; lots of folks didn't wear 'em).

My goal was to beat last year's time (41:18 or something like that) and finish under 40. Which I did, even though I've been walking a lot more than running these days. So yay for that.

I'm getting a Wii!!!!! From my brother and SIL, for Hanukkah and a belated birthday gift. He said I have to get Wii Fit on my own, though.

He thinks it's not advanced enough for someone who's already pretty fit. I think a) he's overestimating how fit I am and b) the advanced workouts, plus the new program coming out in January (My Fitness Coach or something like that) will be more challenging. Plus I'll still use the treadmill; this will be a supplement, plus more for strength training. Especially now that it's been so long since I've DONE any strength training, other than my shoulder therapy.

Oh that is so cool. I think you will like it. My son has the wii. He does not have the fit but just doing the tennis and bowling and football is a great workout.

Really cool

I just ordered My Fitness Coach, because it's supposed to be a better workout than the Fit one. And it's in stock (and way cheaper, too). So I figure I can start with that. Costco had Wii Fit this weekend at an amazing price, but I didn't buy it because I didn't know about the gift. Sigh. And now they're sold out, of course.

Sorry not to have commented before but great job on the race!! That is totally what that woman talks about in 'Joining the Thin Club' - making new goals. Of course you know that or you wouldn't have maintained for so long!

I imagine being a runner someday. I don't know if I could ever do it, but I imagine the feeling of freedom of just walking out my front door and heading off in some direction for a while. Maybe it's the freedom that calls to me, with two kids that scenario is about impossible. But the idea of feeling light enough to run is attractive, too.

Enjoy your freedom and lightness.

I'm still not sure I'd call myself a runner. I don't run fast and I can't run far. But I DO love that one day I was out helping someone catch their dog that had gotten out, and when I headed home I just ran back down the block. It wasn't a big deal, except that when I got home, I realized a) I ran it and b) I ran it without even THINKING about it. I'm at point A and I want to get to point B, and I'm in a hurry. So RUN. What a concept. :)

I think I look fatter than I am in the photo. Especially next to my friend (she's the one who lost a bunch of weight with a medically supervised shake program here at work). What kills me is she finished the program, doesn't really work out much, and eats crap all the time again. And hasn't gained back any weight. And kept up with me on the race, although I figure that's because she's 20 years younger than me. She just BARELY kept up.

Well they didn't put your number in the most glattering place, right? :D You should run in Spandex and then we'd see your rockin' bod!!

20 years younger - give it time. You know from experience that if she doesn't make any changes she'll be back up there again and kicking herself. That's not nice to say I guess but it makes me feel better.
