Well that just proves that even doctors don't know everything. Good for you, not taking one person's word for things when it didn't seem right to you. I read all the time that you're supposed to be your own health advocate - I myself am such a follower that I'm probably too trusting of my doctors. But then, I've never fundamentally disagreed with them, either. Time will tell on that score.

Enjoy the exercise you get in. We've had two very nice days here - I should have gone walking. Coulda, woulda, shoulda....

I'm so argumentative, I ALWAYS disagree with my doctors. Ha. Heck, my primary care guy kept insisting there was nothing wrong with my shoulder, even after the X-ray showed a potential problem. I had to insist that he send me to orthopedics.

And I just didn't care for this woman. I'd much rather see my original ortho guy, even if he IS less convenient now. I think her focus was just getting me functional for everyday life. But I've worked too long and too hard to settle for "functional."

That's a good point. She's probably not used to working with overachievers. And I meant that as a compliment!

I think she's more a regular orthopedist. He does sports medicine, and his specialty is shoulders.

Today's my first day without Celebrex. I figure it probably stays in your system for a little while, so I won't know for sure how I'm doing till at least the weekend. But that's what 24-hour Walgreen's stores are for, right?

Got in a good treadmill workout today, and later on I'll do my shoulder exercises.

Hi Robin,

Glad to hear that things are getting better for you with your shoulder.

You job as a journalist must have been very interesting. Did you specialize in certain areas. I can remember wanting to go into journalism back in high school....but never went in that direction. I can totally see how one could get burnt out based on what areas they worked...especially politics....yuck!!

Hi, Suzy. I was, or I guess still kind of am, a copy editor. I worked in news and features, so I read pretty much anything that went into the paper other than sports (and occasionally helped out there, too, during hockey season). News, Metro, features, entertainment, food, etc. It was a very fast pace, and I was constantly learning new things, which I really enjoyed. But working nights and weekends, being constantly overworked, and reading some of the same things over and over again for years (elections, crimes, the same old city council and school board issues, etc.) got a little old after awhile. Still, I would have been happy to stick with it for the rest of my career if the industry wasn't in so much trouble. Now I'm in PR, and much more secure, but bored out of my mind most of the time. At least I don't eat when I'm bored anymore!

Your job in journalism sounds facinating...but I can totally see how you would get burnt out. My mom has been complaining to me so much lately because our city newspaper has reduced everything that a paper that used to take her two hours to read now only takes her 30 minutes. She hates it. The internet is killing the business....but I explained to my mom that everything I read in our newspaper I already read on the internet the day before.

So it's YOUR fault, then!!! :x LOL. The sad thing is, now that I don't work there anymore, I get MY news online, too, and dropped my subscription. After 20 years in the business. What can I say? I like to read a physical paper, but I just don't have time in the morning.

Weight still up, at 127.8. Still no clue WHY, either. Walked for half an hour, because I wasn't feeling so great.

Do you remember the time back in the 70's and 80's when you could get the morning paper and night paper... My father read every inch of both papers. That was the thing to do. Robin I can not believe that you are at 127.... That is great.. Are you trying to get down to 125. You will you have a lot of will power and determination, You can do it.

I still get the daily newspaper and read it every night when I come home from work. However, I do get a lot of the news online. I too like reading the physical paper and have yet to get so disenchanted to drop it totally. I really love the Sunday paper and could switch my subscription to Sundays only...but still need that daily fix.

Robin - you are doing so wonderful. I sure hope that I can keep your determination for as long as you have.

No time for a real post, but I just had to report ... I was just at Costco, and they had Dockers cords. I'm still looking for pants that fit - and don't need to be shortened - and these came in a short length. So I figured I'd get a couple of colors in size 4 and they'd probably be tight right now but would fit later on in the winter.

You guessed it. They fit perfectly already. Not the slightest bit tight. Holy cow.

Oh, and officially I'm shooting for 125, but really I'd like to get to 120 or even 115. It kinda depends on my body fat; right now I'm around 26 percent, and I'd like to get down to 21 or 22.

Well, yes and no. They're not my first size 4's, and I know Dockers tend to run a little big, so I wasn't THAT excited. Although I put them on today, and not only do they fit, but I need a belt because they're a little loose already. Sigh. I don't know if Dockers come any smaller!
