Hey, Rob! Mazel tov on re-hitting goal weight! That totally rocks. But sorry to hear exercise has been problematic. Obviously your physical setbacks, the rotator cuff, getting sick, etc., have cramped your style and flow, but your mojo will come back soon enough, you know it!

Hope the mri goes well.

Cheers,

Lauren

Thanks, Lauren! I'm very jazzed about being back down, and at how easy it was to get there. I think I'm even lower now, but the scale's not showing it yet.

Today I had a real workout, though. Full hour, although not too much running (but I could have run longer when I stopped, so that's a good sign). I decided to try having a Vitatop before my workout again, like I used to. It's not quite on the new plan, but I figure I can make it work (plus since it helps me get a better workout, I burn far more than the 100 extra calories). And all that iron can't hurt, either.

OK, plus I love them.

Hey, Robin!

Great job on the loss! I'm so glad to know there's a program that works for maintenance! You da bomb! :D

I've been lacking exercise motivation lately, too. :? I really feel like getting back on the wagon today, though. I guess I'll have to figure out what works - pushing thru it, or giving myself a break. In any case, I'm looking forward to hitting the gym on the way home today!

Odd. I responded to this yesterday, but the post isn't here. I can't remember what I said, but I'm sure it was brilliant and inspirational and would have changed your life. :)

Anyway, 129.8. Slowly, but surely. Also have worked out every day this week except yesterday. Sometimes the full hour, sometimes 45 minutes, and still not running as long as I was, but I seem to be doing better every day. I think my pre-workout Vitatop is helping.

I'm glad your workouts are improving steadily! I know how much you like them (or at least like the feeling you get from them, if not the actual doing!).

Do you know if there's much difference between a jog and a fast walk? I want to start on the treadmill and was thinking of putting in some intervals of faster stuff - but didn't know if just keeping it to a walk or trying to jog was better. Or if I should just try walking for a while so I don't get too discouraged by the bouncing fat rolls....

Difference in what way? Calorie burn and heart rate, it depends on the difference in speed between your fast walk and your jog. Mental boost, on the other hand, was HUGE for me when I started jogging/running because it was something I'd never done before and hadn't imagined myself doing.

But if you're just starting on the treadmill, you might want to start with modest goals and work your way up. If you want to do intervals, maybe try some small hills instead. But I think I'd start with just plain walking and see how you do.

As for me, just wanted to check in. Workouts are improving rapidly. Walking every day, running every other day. Adding time to my run every time, so I'm hoping to be back to half an hour by next week. Feeling MUCH better, with the morning Vitatops.

Scale is still creeping down painfully slowly, but I know that's just me. I seem to be dropping inches faster than pounds, which is fine with me. And this time I seem to be dropping more fat than just weight, so I'm REALLY happy about that.

Just popping in to see how you are doing? I know you live up North, but just making sure everything is okay from the storm.

How are you dogs?

You are still amazing me with how much exercise you do. And also 129 BRAVO

Well hope you have a great evening.

Hi, Katie! Thanks for checking. We were fine up here. Originally they predicted we'd get some big storms and lots of wind, but in the end all we got was maybe an inch of rain the whole day Saturday. By Sunday, it was sunny and gorgeous out; the one thing Ike did here (other than raise gas and hotel prices) was cool things off a lot.

The best thing about my loss so far is that even though I haven't lost many pounds, my body is changing significantly. I'm FINALLY getting rid of the belly fat I managed to acquire on Medifast, and today I tried on a pair of jeans I bought back in March. They fit me like a glove back then, and I've never worn them because it got too hot. Now they're huge in the waist. I finally feel like I'm getting my body back, because I used to have a very defined waist, and it's been kind of thick ever since Medifast.

Awesome!!!!! Losing weight is great but if you don't get your great bod back it's a little disappointing I bet. I never had a great bod so I won't know what I'm missing. :-) You are a great advertisement for exercise, knowing that diet won't do it alone. I feel like I'll be more motivated to work out when I can see changes in my body, without all this fat hiding whatever muscle I might build up. I'm holding on to Power 90 for when I get close to goal. Still haven't started walking yet, thanks for the tips. I always go too gung-ho and burn myself out. And of course, I always plan way too far ahead and lose sight of what I need to do right now to get to those far away goals. I'm beginning to think if I ever get to walk, let alone jog, even one day, it will be a huge victory with these two girls running me ragged.

Can they go with you (in a stroller or carriage or whatever)? Heck, carrying the baby would be like walking with weights.

They could - and the baby likes movement so she'd probably be really good for me. I just hate walking outside. I know, that's backwards. I don't know what it is - maybe the public seeing me sweat? Because I can't walk around the corner without sweating, no matter the weather. Yuck. One of the big reasons I don't like exercise - I hate to sweat. Reason number two - I'm lazy.

Ah, ya gotta embrace the sweat. I was just thinking about it the other day, actually. I HATE to sweat in real life, but when it comes to workouts I don't feel right unless I'm drenched by the end. (But that's now. I didn't start out that way, and no one else should, either. Just moving is good at first.)

Speaking of which, yay for getting in another full hour this morning. Running was only 15 minutes of it, but my pulse was higher than normal so I didn't want to push TOO hard. It was nice to work out with Biggest Loser on again, too.

And after bouncing around for almost a week, I was back down to 129.8 this morning. So yay for that, too. I'm hoping it'll drop a bit more by the weekend.

That's a really good idea. I know you said it before but I guess it didn't register - working out with BL on, I mean. With TiVo I can fast forward through commercials and stuff, so it's not like I'd literally be walking 2 hours. That would have to be motivating, right? Perhaps I'll try that.

Our treadmill is really loud. Baby is finally taking daytime naps longer than 20 minutes, so I really could start exercising when I lay her down - but I'm afraid the noise will wake her up. She sleeps through TV noise and stuff but the treadmill is in the same room as her pack-n-play. I guess there's no way to know, but to try. Maybe I'll try when she's taking an evening nap today and my husband is home to grab her if she does wake up, so I don't have to stop.

I guess that's really something to put in my own journal, huh? Sorry. I just always think of exercise when I'm in your journal, but not so much in my own.

Forgot to say congrats on getting under 130, too! (Just slipped under 230 myself this morning so I'm hot on your tail, if you pretend that first digit isn't different. )
