Hi, Robin,

I haven't updated myself too much on your journal yet, but I wanted to thank you for stopping by mine ! Having the guts to come back pays off, and you are very helpful to those who need more guts ... hee hee (okay, well, not the muffin top kind, but the emotional kind !).

Anyway, I will be back to catch up soon. I hope all is well !

Thanks, you guys (and Karli and DeDe, so good to hear from you!!). I'm doing a little better today, but still off-balance. I'm actually thinking I might be a little anemic; I'm always kind of borderline, and I've had a lot less iron since starting the new program. I really kind of hope that IS the problem, because it would also explain the lame workouts (and wouldn't you know it? Another symptom is an unusually fast heart rate, especially when exercising - something I've been asking about for MONTHS).

Anyway, got some iron (I know, I know, too much can be bad, too, so I got the lowest dose they had; but after adding up the iron in everything I'm eating, I'm really only getting about half the recommended amount) so hopefully I'll be feelnig better soon. Plus I had a Vitatop today, because they have 50 percent of the RDA - and I was having one every morning before my workouts, up until I started the new program.

BTW, down to 131 today, so just 1 pound above where I was when I stopped Medifast (and given that I've been working out a lot the past two years and had to have gained at least 1 pound of muscle, I figure I'm back to where I was). So yay for that.

Hi, Robin! Sucks you're still feelin' under the weather! :( Hopefully the extra iron will balance you out!

Good job on maintaining your weight! You've really made maintenance work! My hero-ine! As consistent as you are about exercise, I'd bet you've gained more than just a pound of muscle.

I don't feel consistent right now, even though it's only been two days off (there's no way I'd even attempt anything with my balance so screwy). But I'm hoping the iron is the reason my workouts have been so bad lately. It would definitely make sense.

And thanks, on the weight. I'm just glad to be back down, and glad I did something about it before it got out of hand. I know firsthand how easy it is to put it off, until before you know it you're all the way back up where you started. So I figure acting before it got to that point is a good sign that I'll keep it off long-term.

Finally back. Turns out not only was I not getting as much iron in my diet, but the stupid meds for my rotator cuff (just NSAIDS and aspirin) interfere with iron absorption and apparently a major cause of anema. Go figure.

So I'm doing much better, and even got through a full workout this morning (but only a small part of it was running; I wanted to make sure I was OK before I did TOO much).

Meanwhile, went to lunch with a friend. She didn't tell me before we went that it was my BIRTHDAY lunch. Sigh. But yay, because I didn't use it as an excuse to go off my program. I had a grilled chicken breast with mushrooms and broccoli (probably a TAD more fat than I should have, but nothing awful).

I'm so glad you're feeling better! Happy Birthday! :)

We got quite a bit of rain this weekend. Nice to see it in the 90's in the afternoon after all those triple digit days!

We got rain in some areas, less in others. Our temps are back up near 100, too. Blech. But I'll be gone Wednesday, so yay for that.

(And thank you, although it's not my bday for another week. Which is why I was surprised when she told me it was my birthday lunch. Especially when she didn't tell me that till we were already there.)

LOL, that's too funny about the lunch! What day is your b-day?

Where are you off to next week? No fair, gettin' to skip out on the hottest month in Texas! Now that the rain's over, but the ground is still wet, it's very humid and steamy out. Blech.

Argh. Looks like the site's getting screwy again for some reason.

Anyway ... going to Denver for my little cousin's bday (I go twice a year for the kids' birthdays). Hers is Wednesday; mine's next Tuesday (the 2nd). She gets a party; I get to work. She'll be 14; I'll be mumblemumblemumble.

Yeah, I think the iron's definitely doing the trick. My workout was cut short today, though. My hand brushed against the metal plate you're supposed to touch to get your heart rate, and I got a shock, there was a spark, and the whole darn thing shut down for a sec and then started back up. I got a little spooked and decided maybe it would be better to get some more stuff done for my trip instead.

I'm going to do a half a workout tomorrow before I leave for the airport. I'm hoping to run as much of it as I can.

Yea, I don't think I would play around with electrical issues like that. My luck I would end up blowing the whole thing up. Ya going to have that looked at?
