Not much to say, especially since it's so quiet here lately. Ran 20 of the 60 minutes today, including 3 hills. Meant to run a bit longer, but Mojo knocked her favorite squeaky tennis ball (the one with half the fuzzy stuff pulled off) under the treadmill, and I was afraid she was going to hurt herself trying to get it out while I was still on there. So I stopped to get it out for her.

Still having a bit of sandbox trouble, so weight's about the same (but lower on the Tanita for some reason). Still enjoying the food quite a bit, except next month I'll need to order fewer things with tomatoey sauces, because they upset my stomach a little.

Hey, Rob -

Sorry to hear your belly's a bit off, but thrilled for you that the new plan seems to be suiting you well!

Yeah, it's extra quiet these last couple days (but I can't complain, as I haven't helped the energy cause myself!).

I'll try to jump in more, just to aid in the action!

I know. Even the few regulars who are left seem to be gone. Is it conference time or something, maybe?

It's funny, because when folks on the new site were encouraging me (and other newbies) to post more, I had said I didn't think I'd be around much because I'm still HERE a lot. But that place is so much busier, I find myself spending a lot of time there now.

And heck, I'm used to the tummy issues. I had 'em on Medifast, I have 'em on regular food. I used to have an iron stomach, but those days are over.

And btw, did you change your target weight or did you gain a little or what? Weren't you something like 13 or 14 pounds under your goal weight before?

Yeah, there was a conference, but I don't think that's why it's quiet. I just think that there are phases were a few folks do a lot of talking, and then if those 3 or 4 people happen to drop off, it gets silent. Hopefully we've have more talkers soon!

And no, I didn't gain any weight at all, I've actually lost a couple more pounds. No, it used to say 165 down, but what I think you may be remembering is that I had hit my "original" goal when I lost about 150-155 pounds, and then proceeded to lose more, getting to my "final goal," which is when I had lost 165 pounds. I've actually lost 167 pounds (as of this morning's weight) since start, but I tend to just go up and down the same two pounds, so I usually just have the ticker say 165 lost.

And if I had gained that weight back that you said (oy vey!), I would be on this dang forum constantly! haha

Ha. I wondered. I didn't think you had, but I could swear your ticker used to say something like "13 pounds under goal."

Even I'm starting to visit less often. If there's no one here to talk to, there's no point.

Ok, now that I'm not in quite such a foul mood, I guess I can post. Workout was pretty lame - only 45 minutes, and only half that at even a decent walking speed. The last half was slow, slow, slow, at least for me. I'm blaming the unbearable humidity today. Even though I was inside, I could still feel it. Blech.

Anyway ... I don't know that I have much advice beyond the norm, to be honest. Stick to the plan. Drink your water. Be patient. Don't weigh yourself every day if it drives you crazy; do weigh every day if the normal fluctuations don't affect you. Weigh your proteins; measure your veggies but don't freak out over a little extra green beans or broccoli. Use the sugar-free syrups and whatever tips you find over in the Lean Cuisine section to change/improve the taste of the Medifoods. Visit the forum as much as needed, and if you need support or have a question, ASK. It's slow here lately, but if you post, someone will answer. (If no one does, PM me or Mike or Diana or someone who posts regularly. I don't always check in throughout the day anymore, but I'll get an e-mail if I get a PM.) If you slip, try to learn from your mistake and don't beat yourself up about it. And one of my biggest tips: Try to get rid of the "all or nothing" attitude that just about all of us seem to have. You don't have to be perfect. If you mess up, you don't have to GIVE up.

I considered it a HUGE step forward last weekend when I decided to start my new plan even though I already had dinner plans and knew that dinner wouldn't be exactly right. The old me would have waited so I could have a perfect first day - and would have seen that dinner out as a chance for a "last hurrah." The new (and hopefully improved) me knows that I'm better off starting right away, spending most of the day on plan and then just making good choices at dinner, even on my first day.

[stepping off soapbox] I hope that helped! And if I didn't say it before, welcome back!!

Yay. I made up for the lame workout this morning and did a 4-mile "super challenge" DVD (one of the Walk Away the Pounds workouts).

Thank you so much for responding ! Sometimes it helps to hear it again and again especially from a maintainer ! I think patience is also good advice..I know for me, I want it all off by yesterday !

I am persevering and it is officially August 1, 2008 !!

Glad I could help. Believe me, if I can do this, pretty much anyone can.

And on that note, I'm at my lowest weight in months. I've lost 2.8 pounds in my first six days on the new program, so YAY for that (and a bigger yay if I can make it an even 3 tomorrow morning). Today was my one workout day off for the week, which turned out to be a good thing since we had some thunder this morning and Teemu was freaked out. I might do a DVD this afternoon, though. Maybe just the 3-mile, since it's supposed to be a day off. All that arm-raising in the DVD made my shoulder more sore, though, so I think I'm finally going to e-mail the doc and let him know it's still bothering me.

Did the 3-mile today, with weights, so yes, I killed my shoulder just a little bit more. But my doc sent me over to orthopedics, and they're supposed to call me for an appointment.

I'm in too lousy a mood - again! - to post much, but I figured I'd at least check in. Down 3 pounds for the week on the new plan, plus another 0.2 since then (maybe more, but as usual, I'm a little slow to the sandbox right now).

Took yesterday off from workouts, partly because I was due a day and partly because my calf was bothering me. Today I had the same trouble I've BEEN having (and yes, it's still over 100 here; yesterday it was 107, today it's supposed to be 105). I'm hoping that's all it is, and I'm going to do the 4-mile again at work to make up for it.

Got an appt Thursday with the orthopedist, so I'm hoping he can figure out what's up with my shoulder then. I can feel something slipping or something in the back of it.

Anyway, that's it. I'm cranky, and I don't know why, although my mom's bday is next Monday, so maybe that's it.

Just checking in. Did the 4-mile tape yesterday. Kinda disappointing to see that it burns about HALF the calories I normally do in the same amount of time (I used my HR monitor to check).

Anyway, not a GREAT workout today, but better than I've been doing. Ran 15 minutes of the hour, but at least I did that much and I walked the rest. I'll probably do the 3-mile this afternoon just to get up and move a little.

Meanwhile, down another half a pound, so 3.8 in just over a week. Which is EXCELLENT for me. And a top that's usually a wee bit form-fitting is looking a little baggy today, for some reason. Interesting, but YAY. Still loving the plan, too. I can't wait for my next shipment of food (which is coming early, to make sure I get it before I leave for Denver). I even got a coupon in the mail for three free weeks (when I signed up, it was two). I called to ask, and they added the third week with no problem. Plus I'm getting $30 off from someone on their boards (if you refer someone to them, the new person gets $30 off AND the person who referred them gets $30 off, too).

I know. Even worse than it was a couple of months ago. I don't know what's up.

After yet another lame workout (I'll be supplementing with a DVD later), I'm going to try something new tomorrow and have my fruit serving before the treadmill instead of my breakfast pastry thingie. I'm wondering if it's a few too many calories for my body to handle right before a run or something, since it's more than the Vitamuffins. Of course, today's problem also could be that I had more salt than usual, but I'm having the same salty item for one of my proteins today, so that might be a good test.
