I LOVE farmers' markets! They are the best treat for local fruits and veggies, I have such a field day!

Best of luck on the new plan, Rob, hope it brings you immediate and joyful results!

Cheers,

Lauren

Thanks, Lauren, I hope so, too. I just need a little jump-start, you know? Plus I'm happy to have a break from planning and preparing meals.

And the market was great. I got peaches (from two different growers, because after I got the first basket, I decided I wanted some more) and this melon I had tried over the weekend. Yum. I already had one of the peaches.

Ugh. I feel like such a slug. Was up half the night for some reason (one of those things where you wake up thinking it's just about time to get up, and then you realize it's only 2 a.m.!). Then got up with tummy problems and bloating. Scale was up, although obviously I didn't gain a pound and a half overnight. Tummy was acting up so much that I decided to postpone my workout (since it's a Friday, I figure I can do something tonight and just stay up later if I need to). So I'm determined to still hit the treadmill later, no matter what, but I feel like a slug anyway. And I just feel so bloated and a little out of sorts now. Sigh.

But the good news is my food shipment comes today. Yay! (The slightly bad news is I realized today that I sort of mis-ordered the breakfasts. I got all egg dishes, to which I still add a protein and a fruit serving. My plan was to have the fruit before my workout and the rest afterward. But now I think I should have ordered all the muffin-y type stuff, so I could have THAT before the workout, and then the protein and fruit afterward. Because the protein can be 1/2 cup of egg substitute, and stuff like spinach is "free," so I could basically eat half a fritatta plus a piece of fruit for breakfast and something even healthier than my usual Vitamuffin before my workout. Sigh. Next month, I guess.)

I wonder what upset your tummy? The fruit, maybe?

I dunno. I tend toward some tummy issues, so it's hard to say. I've been having peaches all week, though, so I doubt it was them.

And sorry, missed your other post. I've got huge, exciting plans this weekend. Not. I have a plumber coming tomorrow morning to fix a leaky toilet, and I'm going to a play with a friend tomorrow night (was supposed to be a Meetup thing, but that kind of fell apart). Considered a brunch Meetup on Sunday, but I want to start my new plan that day, so that's out of the question now.

Other than that, I think I'm just going to hang out at home or go to the movies, because it's sweltering here right now. Supposed to be 104 on Sunday. Ugh. (And unlike Lauren, I still get hot and sweaty when it't hot and miserable outside!)

Oh, cool. I'm not sure WHAT I'm going to see, but maybe Batman (not on IMAX, though, cause if I go by myself, I usually just go in the neighborhood). I'll have extra time, though, since I won't have so much cooking to do, so I might as well enjoy myself.

I just have a minute, but wanted to update. Got my shipment Friday. Decided instead of waiting till Sunday to start (because I had dinner plans Saturday night), I started Saturday morning. I figured delaying the start because the day wouldn't be perfect was just the same old "all or nothing" thinking, so I went ahead and then just ordered sensibly at dinner. And lo and behold, when I got up this morning, I was down a pound and a half, to the lowest number I've seen in months. I suppose it must be water, but I don't care. I haven't lost that much WATER in months.

Anyway, so far, so good. Maybe it's all that time on Medifast (where I eventually learned to tolerate, but never really LIKE, the foods), but I've been really happy so far with everything I've tried. I did place a second order in addition to the regular monthly one to correct a miscalculation on my part, though. I had ordered all egg-type breakfasts, because I didn't want the pastry-type stuff. But I forgot that you add protein and fruit to the breakfast, so basically I can have their breakfast, some fruit AND a half a cup of egg substtitute (or some other choices, of course) and some veggies. So I decided I'm better off having one of their pastries or muffins or whatever before my workout, then having the egg substitute afterward. So I ordered a bunch of baked-type stuff, and figure I'll work through the egg meals at some point. On weekends, or on my workout days off.

Anyway, that's it. Ran yesterday, did a short walk today because I was tired from being up so late last night. Saw Batman this morning, then came home to hide in the AC because it's over 100 degrees for the umpteenth day this month. I hope everyone's having a good weekend. And I hope I'm down even more tomorrow. :)

What is the new program you are doing? It sounds very interesting. It is only for folks in your area or is it nationwide??

It's national. I was trying not to mention it by name, since this is a Medifast site. I'll PM you. But everyone knows the name. It's all over the place.

Meanwhile, today I ran 30 minutes straight at 5 mph (1 incline) and then walked the other 30. YAY!!!!! I'm going to do it a few more times, then start increasing my speed. But I'm SO psyched that I was able to do it, especially on a day when I really just wanted to walk and didn't think I'd make it past five minutes.

Oh, and I'm down 2 pounds already. And so very happy with the plan so far. I just hope it keeps going, although I know it will probably slow down soon.

Some days yes, some days no. I wasn't happy with such a short walk yesterday, and I meant to do more later, but it's STILL over 100 here. We apparently missed a record yesterday by one degree. And it's supposed to stay in triple digits all this week. I hate this.

But yeah, otherwise feeling good, enjoying the food, having no problem at all sticking to the plan, etc. And my new breakfasts should be here in a few days, which will help, too. I think the pastry stuff, which includes protein, will work better than fruit. Or even my Vitamuffins. And it was SO nice not to spend yesterday in the kitchen, getting stuff ready. I cut up some melon for the next few days and got some egg things ready ahead of time, and that was it.

Ugh. Really bad workout day. I think it was a "perfect storm" of bad conditions (a little dehydrated, still-climbing temperatures, a little under on the protein yesterday, etc.). I did half an hour of walking, which just kept getting slower and slower in my attempt to make it a full hour.
