I have some, but I can't really run in them. Too bulky. Not that they'd work anyway. I looked at the help stuff online, and it's what I thought. I need to fix the sound setting in the U-Verse box. Thankfully, they had the necessary codes and everything on there. Apparently the installation people sometimes forget to adjust the boxes, and then they set the remote so that it only controls the TV volume. So the TV was turned all the way up, but it was still hard to hear.

So hopefully tomorrow I can turn the volume up to blaring again (I live alone, so no one cares). Although anyone standing in my back yard can hear it, too.

Ha. Someone completely deaf, but yes. I like it pretty loud, to be heard over the treadmill (which is louder when I run than when I walk, of course) plus four fans.

Four fans! Tip: Go for airconditioning. We live in Texas.
(just teasing! :D )

Well, DogMa, I done ya proud today. I met with the trainer, actually worked out, and wouldn'tyaknowit, I actually enjoyed it!

In between torturing me in increasingly creative ways, she grilled me about MediFast! She has another client that apparently is trying to lose a lot of weight and is really struggling, despite working out on a regular basis. I gave her the website and told her about my experience so far, and she's excited about passing on the info.

Big, those fans are in ADDITION to the a/c. My brother's sixth-grade teacher used to say horses sweat, men perspire and women glow ... well, when I run, I GLOW like I'm radioactive.

Anyway, Saturday I ran hill intervals and then walked at 4 mph. On Sunday, I ran 20 minutes and then walked at 4 mph, plus I tried my new Callanetics DVD later on (did a little bit of it, but a) it was HARD and b) it was really hot by then, so I just did a little and let it go).

Today was supposed to be my cardio day off, but I walked for 20 minutes just to do SOMEthing. Later on I need to do my PUSH workout, and I think I'm going to bring the Callenetics in here and do it on my days off from Bob if I can (maybe half a workout Tuesdays and half on Thursdays ... umm, I guess starting next week since I won't be here Thursday).

Went out to eat Saturday night, and actually did well. Not that you'd know it from the scale. BUT I did a little shopping on Saturday and got a pair of size 6 pants that's bordering on being too big (could just be the brand, though) and had to put back all the medium-size tops and get smalls because I was swimming in the mediums. I thought maybe it was, again, just the branda, but then I tried on some tank tops I had gotten in a size small for Teemu (don't ask). Same brand I always wear, except I normally wear the medium. Well, the smalls fit just fine. So go figure. Apparently SOMEthing is working, and the stupid scale (and BMI charts) are just useless.

With all of that PUSHing going on you've probably traded some fat for muscle! It makes perfect sense to me. You work out regularly, your clothes are getting too big, but the scale is not being friendly...I'll bet your muscle mass has increased. :D

Oh, I know it has. I can SEE it. But it's not all muscle. A woman just can't gain that many pounds of muscle in that short a time.

And speaking of PUSH, it was a new workout today ... and I hated it. The format changed some, which I didn't like. And he kept switching from mat to chair, which was annoying. And then he suddenly did something that even HE was using tiny weights for, and I don't have any light weights in my office (and really don't want to bring in more weights). So I don't know. I think I'm going to do the old workout a little longer, and maybe some of the Callanetics. And maybe look at the next DVD, with the other trainer on it, to see if it gets any better. And some of these exercise? He must be kidding. The other workouts all kind of built up slowly, but this one is WAY more advanced.

Congrats on the smaller sizes!! WooHoo! :boing: You've worked hard for it!!

I hear ya on the sweating. I don't bother to do much with my hair in the summer 'cause as soon as I go outside, my scalp starts to sweat and my hair kinks. Then my forehead sweats and my makeup melts off. So it's ponytails and very little make-up all the way from June - October!

What are Callanetics?

Ha. Yeah, I blow-dry my bangs and let the rest dry on its own, on my way to work. And then eventually end up with a ponytail the rest of the day.

It's some very odd workout thing that's like 20 years old, but I just read about it recently and decided to try it. I did a little bit of the DVD yesterday just to see what it's like. Very, very strange, but I sure did feel it in my abs, and my triceps are sore today (ummm, and all I did was the warm-up and the abs section). Very isometric. No equipment other than a chair, table or bed (to prop your leg on, I gather; I didn't get that far). The stuff I did was boring as all get-out, but man, was I sweating and feeling it.

Yeah, the cover looked really familiar, so I think maybe my brother or my mom had the book once. I know my brother was big on isometrics, for like a minute. :)

I think I'm going to bring it to work tomorrow and do it at lunch. Hopefully I'll get through more of it than I did the other day (but then it was midafternoon, so hot, even in the house, and I didn't turn up the air or anything).

Not much to report. Weight unchanged, of course. I was going to run hill intervals this morning, but my knee was bothering me a little. So I walked hill intervals instead (4 mph, with intervals the first half of the hour).

I leave for Denver (friend's wedding) tomorrow after work, so I probably won't be posting while I'm gone. The hotel has a gym, though, and I'm bringing my resistance bands, so I'll still be working out. I'm usually very good about keeping up when I travel.

And I brought the Callanetics DVD to work with me, so I'm going to do that (or at least part of it) today in my office.

Well, so much for doing Callanetics today. I brought the DVD case, but left the disc in the machine. Duh. Guess I'll start NEXT week.
