That is so cool! It's like having a personal trainer delivered to your home! Do you mind if I ask what company does that? Were you able to keep up with the programs each month? I'm afraid by the time the next tape came in, I wouldn't have conquered the previous one yet!

It's called PUSH, at www dot push dot tv. I was really impressed from the first workout, because it seemed to be right on target. It was challenging, but not so hard that I couldn't do it. Since then, I've run into a couple of things I still couldn't do by the time I was supposed to move to the next workout. I e-mailed the company to ask if I should move on or wait till I could do everything, and the trainer said it's normal to struggle with a move or two, and to just move on. Eventually, I think by the end of the next workout, I could do it. (Although I'm not convinced that I'll EVER be able to do these plyo lunge things, especially not after doing three other kinds of lunges.)

I talk about it a lot on here, but only because I've really liked the program and I've seen clear progress since I started, especially in my balance and flexibility (and ab strength, which was a huge problem for me). It's $25 a month, or they have some kind of "power PUSH" thing for around $50. I'm not sure what that involves.

And once again, he KILLED me. And I couldn't finish those plyo lunges, although I did the plyo push-ups. Sort of.

I think I'll stick with the Wii Fit. It has many choices for personal trainers and the workouts in the beginning are hard enough for me. If I can stick with it enough, they should get easier.

I have never been able to get into doing any kind of routine at home. I have been in physical therapy many times in my life, but always at a "medical" kind of place. The gym has always intimidated me because of my size, lack of condition and general low self-esteem. I just never had the desire to be around folks who were a size 4 trying to slim into a 2 ya know? This time around though I found a PT place that is set in a gym or a gym that is set in a PT place however you want to think about it. Either way, it works for me. Most people who are in the gym are gimps, recovering gimps or conditioning prior to surgery (or what I call - soon to be gimps). We are all in the same boat there - genuinely working on getting healthy not body building, sculpting or whatever. I can go in and feel comfortable setting my own pace and doing my own work out. Having a place outside of home, where I feel comfortable working out has made a huge difference for me.

BTW - DogMa - thank you so much for your encouragement and suggestions in my journal. I am glad to be back on MMT and thankful for you and the others being here to support me.

I went to a gym for a while, but I prefer working out at home (or in my office with the door closed), too. Although there were people of all sizes at my gym (plus I figured out that even the size 4 people weren't necessarily ALWAYS a size 4; plenty of them were probably like me, and had lost a bunch of weight already and were trying to either lose more or keep it off, or just trying to be healthy).

I've heard mixed things about Wii Fit. I really wanted one at first, but I heard it's better for beginners. (Plus, in a way, knowing that next DVD is coming soon keeps me more consistent in my workouts.)

Robin, that's so cool! Thanks for telling me about it! I'll definitely check it out online! :D I'm meeting with a personal trainer at the gym Friday after work. I figured I'd get someone to actually teach me how to use the machines this time! But the PUSH program sounds much more affordable in the long run. I do worry that I might not be motivated enough to stick with it at home (like Rodeo), but then I've never stuck with a gym, either! I definitely explore both options.

Yeah, it's all which one you can stick with the best. For me, I stuck with the gym and trainer for maybe a month, and then started going less and less often (and this was on my old schedule, when I had more time in the evenings). Even with a gym here at work, I just know I won't be as consistent about going. But that's me.

Today's cardio: ran 17 minutes straight, walked the rest of the hour. Small incline, as usual. Food right on target. Scale ... I don't want to talk about it. Oh, but I AM wearing pants that I bought a few months ago but haven't been able to wear (they fit when I bought them, then not so much a few weeks later).

Hey Tex - sometimes having a partner to workout with you makes a big difference! If someone else is counting on you to workout with them and you don't want to let them down, you will be more motivated to stick with your routine. I know you are in Texas and I am in Ohio, but if you want to become accountability partners I'm willing!

DogMa - I am not so sure I will ever be able to do much running. With my right ankle having been basically reconstructed and all, I feel lucky to be able to walk. 17 minutes sounds like a great achievement to me. Great NSV on the pants too!! I love it when I can put on something that hasn't fit and actually be able to breath while wearing it.

Thanks for being an inspiration. If someone who has lost and maintained is not wanting to discuss the scale, then I don't feel so bad.

Ha. Bren, the scale is definitely not my friend lately. I think a few pounds may be muscle, but the rest ... I don't know. But believe me, two years in and I'm STILL struggling some of the time, just like everyone else here.

Today I'm just SO happy it's not a PUSH day - and that I only have one more left this week. And tomorrow's a walking morning, too, so a big YAY for that, too.

C'mon, you guys can do it. Heck, Tex, why not just start with walking on that treadmill for 15 or 20 minutes a day?

Ugh. Tired cranky and achy today. And had to cut short my treadmill time because I was having some TV issues. I'm going to try to do two workouts tomorrow or Sunday instead. (Which will be interesting, because I also am thinking of postponing my date with Bob till tomorrow, too. It's kind of hot and stuffy in here today (I think they're doing some work down the hall), so the last thing I want to do is work up a sweat.

Meanwhile, I switched my breakfast to basically all protein (with a little fat) and no carbs. I'm MUCH less hungry, so I think I'm gonna stick with that.

It's good to see that even exercise-a-holics still don't wanna do it some days! :D Today's the day - I'm meetin' with the trainer at the gym after work! DH and I moved the treadmill in front of the TV last night. Did you get your cable back?

The cable's working. I'm having trouble with the volume, actually. I can't get it loud enough to hear over the treadmill and fans, since I got the new system a couple of weeks ago. Not a problem with some shows, but it was a big problem this morning. Which reminds me, I wanted to check online for solutions.

My dad has hearing problems and used to turn the TV up so loud that it made the rest of us miserable. For Christmas a couple of years ago I bought him a set of wireless earphones for the TV. WOW what a difference.
