And now for even more irony ... 129.2. I'm still surprised by how low my calories have been. I mean, I know Medifast keeps them low. But I was having an extra meal a day. No wonder I've been so stuck.

Anyway, funny to see it moving again when I've decided to stop losing. I'm tempted to add even more calories, but I don't want to add anything too quickly. So today will be basically the same as yesterday, except I'm going to have an extra egg white or two AND the string cheese (I already bought the eggs, and I need to use 'em up before I leave town).

Forgot to add the day's plan:

Exercise: Did the same as yesterday. Ramp It Up till the floor abs work, then the standing part of Tae Bo Abs.

Food:
Oatmeal
Broccoli soup with a little leftover roasted broccoli
Non-Medifast soy crisps and low-fat string cheese
Salad with low-fat Cheddar and two egg whites
Soy tortilla chips
RTD
Pudding

Calories: 933
Protein 44%, Carbs 30%, Fat 26%

Obviously fat's higher than I'd like because of the low-fat cheese. But I plan to eventually add carbs to change the percentages to 40-40-20. I want to get my calories up a little before I start adding carbs, though.

129.6. Today I'm going to do Ramp It Up (except the last parts that I don't like) but no Tae Bo Abs afterward. Gotta mix it up, and I don't want to overwork.

Started the book on maintenance. It talks a lot about rigid thinking and all-or-nothing mentality. I swear, it sounded like some of my posts. She says people who follow a diet that way and aren't flexible or don't allow for some departures from the program tend to gain the weight back more than less-perfect dieters.

Anyway, food for the day:
Oatmeal
Broccoli soup with half a pack of Medifast crackers
Off-plan soy crisps and low-fat string cheese
Salad with low-fat feta and chicken breast
Q-Smart bar
RTD
Pudding

Calories: 960, Protein 46%, Carbs 32%, Fat 23% (I know it doesn't add up to 100; Fitday doesn't do decimals, I guess)

Sigh..... Your food sounds so good. All the more inspiration for the rest of us pushing on towards maintenance. Have some string cheese for me will ya? I could live on that stuff!

Definitely, although I always miss the dogs SO much when I'm gone. Sigh. I'm excited, though. Trying to figure out what clothes to bring (I have to bring stuff that makes me look the skinniest!!).

Oooh, and my size 6 jeans? Fit straight out of the dryer. Not even tight. The stretch helps, of course, but still.

I really like that book so far. The main keys so far seem to be flexibility when losing the weight; giving up the all-or-nothing mentality; regular exercise; weighing regularly and having a very small window of flexibility there (they say 3 pounds); and following a maintenance program rather than just trying to make "good" choices. Oh, and keeping track of what you eat and writing it down before you eat it. All of which I'm already doing. I'm so used to planning my day ahead, I've been running stuff in Fitday the night before so during the day I know exactly what I'll be having.

I'm starting to think I can actually do this! And that with the weekly cheat day (or meal, depending on how I handle it), I can actually do this.

I'll be reading up on everyone later ... gotta go work out.

131.4. Whatever. Obviously I didn't gain 2 pounds overnight.

I think today will be a no-exercise today, although I might do a little Tae Bo Abs or something later on. I think my muscles need a bit of a break, though, and my next no-workout day isn't till Wednesday.

Food today (I already put it in Fitday, so it must be true):

Oatmeal
Off-plan soy crisps
Trout and broccoli
Popsicle
RTD
RTD
Pudding

Calories 957, 49% protein, 30% carbs, 20% fat

Thie was definitely a lesson. I had no idea trout was so high in calories and fat. What's up with that??? I'd have been better off with chicken breast or tilapia (but the tilapias was previously frozen and the trout was fresh). I had to cut out a whole meal to keep my calories in range.

I know, me too. I'm still kind of hoping to go even lower eventually, with all the exercise. We'll see.

Meanwhile, this was one of my worst days in a long time, and I have no idea why. I had to get up a little early to meet with the dog sitter, and my trip to the outlets was canceled because my friend was in an accident a week or so ago, and the doc told her yesterday that she shouldn't do much walking. But I was OK with all that.

Today was my day off from exercise, and I've been kind of sore and a little out of sorts all day. And then sometime this afternoon, I just got really hungry for no reason - I mean REALLY hungry. Stomach growling, gnawing feeling in my belly hungry. So I ate dinner a little early. Still starving. Had a Popsicle. Still starving. Had an RTD and some extra water. STILL starving. I don't know what's up, but I really don't want to eat any more than what I planned. So right now I'm trying to distract myself till it's time for my next meal. Sigh.

Hey Robin, do you think that maybe the unaccustomed higher caloric and fat content of the trout caused your stomach to excrete extra acid? This may have been what caused the gnawing feelings and stomach growling that you experienced. I've read that when this occurs it helps to take an acid-blocker like Pepcid AC or Zantac or something.

Hopefully, this is what happened and it's an isolated event and not something you'll have to deal with much...

Bad, bad trout!! :whip:

It started before dinner, though. I was starving from about 4 p.m. on. I just hope it's a one-day thing.

130.2. Today I did Tae Bo Abs (standing only) and the strength-training part of BodyConfidence (for a little change). Totaled about an hour.

I also want to try cutting back to six meals a day, but making a second meal higher in calories. So here's the plan:

Oatmeal
RTD
Off-plan soy crisps and low-fat string cheese
Salad with low-fat Cheddar and chicken breast
All-in-One bar
Pudding

960 calories, 44% protein, 30% carbs, 26% fat.

Edited to change workout.
