PUSH is done. Bob is nuts. And I still can't do that last set of lunges, where you have to jump up and switch legs over and over. (But I CAN do the lunge-kick-lunge-together ones. A bit slower than he does because I'm not that coordinated, but at least I get through 'em. And the other two kinds are no problem.)

I also still haven't mastered the "plyo push-ups." I can do the arms and the legs, but I can't lift an arm AND a leg at once, and stay balanced on just one hand and foot.

I had a bad, bad, BAD weekend as far as food was concerned, and I'm not sure why (I mean, I know what I ate, but I'm still trying to figure out WHY I went so hog-wild). Anyway, of course that meant I felt horrible afterward. Woke up multiple times last night with night sweats, couldn't get through a full workout this morning, etc.

I'm going to do PUSH later today and think about what happened. Maybe all the layoffs at my old paper? Maybe I'm restricting my calories too much during the week? I don't know.

The one positive note is that on Saturday I did the intervals my cousin wanted me to do. Uphill runs.

I'm hardly ever on here during the weekends. I'm either out and about, or I'm too lazy to get my butt off the couch and into my office.

OK, I wasn't going to do PUSH today because I was still feeling out of sorts, but my co-worker (the one on the liquid diet) guilted me into it. So it's done for the day. yay

Good for you for getting it done! You know you - if you slipped up this past weekend, your body is going to feel better quicker if you just get back on a roll. I do wonder if you might be right about possibly being too strict during the week. Maybe you try a week of upping your calories just a little bit and allowing one extra little snack or something and seeing if that curbs your tendencies on the weekends. It is worth exploring the option that it will work better for you.

5lbs and I'm ordering PUSH so I can get a rock star body with Bob!

The thing is, I lowered the weekday calories so that I COULD indulge a little on the weekends. Because, as my cousin pointed out, if I need 1200 calories a day and I eat that much during the week but then have some extras on the weekend, then really I'm NOT eating 1200 a day and I'm going to gain. So I cut back on the weekdays to give myself a little leeway on the weekends.

I've been thinking about it. I cut out some higher-GI foods I was eating (the grapes, basically) and am switching back to lower-GI (and lower-carb) blueberries. Not so many of them, either. And I'm going to go back and look on Fitday to see what I was eating six months ago to see what's changed. And maybe just be a little stricter with myself and try to just cut out this nonsense.

Meanwhile, this morning I did the hill intervals again. Did all three, one minute each, plus ran an extra minute at the end. Tomorrow's a walking day, and then I think Thursday I'm going to try to run (or I should say, I'm going to run) for 20 minutes straight.

DogMa, you mentioned that you used to hate exercising. But now you seem to have made it part of your daily routine. How did you do that?

Pretty much just forced myself. At first, anyway. Eventually it became a habit, and I started to appreciate the way it made me feel afterward (even though I still don't appreciate the way I feel when I'm doing it). I also kinda faced the truth about myself and figured out what I could make myself do (use a treadmill at home every day) and what I couldn't (drag myself to the gym after work).

I started out with workout tapes, then got the treadmill so I could walk and watch TV, then started wanting to challenge myself by walking faster or uphill or whatever. Then did intervals a la Body For Life. Then just kinda went from there.

I think it was much like the way I did Medifast. At first, I just had to force myself. But eventually I got used to it and I liked the results, and it became a habit.

Thanks! I think you pegged it. I need to practice DISCIPLINE! I already have the treadmill - and I cleaned all the laundry off it tonight! :D Step one accomplished!

Ha. It really WILL pay off, if you stick with it. And I don't have to force myself every day anymore (although I do still have days that are harder than others).

Today was a walking day. Did the full hour, but now I don't know if it's allergies or what, but I'm having some trouble breathing. I'm hoping it eases up now that I'm inside (they were cutting the grass on campus, so maybe that was it). If it doesn't, I may need to skip Bob today. And I don't want to do that, even though I don't feel like doing the workout.

When you talk about Bob do you mean the Bob workout from The Biggest Loser? Do you like his workouts better than Jillian's?

We have free exercise TV, and they have their workouts on. I think I'm going to follow your idea and mix up walking and work-out routines. Keep it interesting so I don't zone out! :)

Same Bob, different workouts. These are from a company that does personalized (at least somewhat) workouts on DVD. You fill out a questionnaire, and every month you get a new DVD with two strength-training workouts (which get progressively harder) plus a cardio workout (which I ignore) and some "bonus" workouts that focus on your chosen area of concentration.

You also pick a trainer, and I chose Bob when I started. But I only have one more DVD with him before I've "graduated" and have to use the personal trainer who owns the company. Cause I'm such a stud, ya know.

You go girl.

We have the Wii, and of course... the Wii Fit (but getting into the rhythm of using it daily.. heck, weekly, is my challenge). Congrats to you for sticking with "Bob".

Hey, Bob's a cruel, sadistic taskmaster, but he's still the man. Only today and Friday left for this workout, and then I get to switch again. Hopefully the next one won't have those stupid plyo-pushups. Or so many kinds of lunges.
