Thanks, guys. And Hol, so sorry you're still feeling the crud, too. I went back to the doc this morning. They did a CBC and decided it's viral, so no more antibiotics. But I was still running a fever. Sigh. They gave me a couple of prescriptions (decongestant nasal spray, cough medicine with expectorant and MORE decongestant) and it actually seems to be helping; I can breathe for the first time in days. They also swear I'm not contagious anymore, so if I can get some rest and nothing else changes, I'm going to try like crazy to get to work tomorrow so I can give notice. I really don't want to do it by phone if at all possible. I also feel bad, because I hear another person in our group is out sick, too.

Anyway, I'm off to snuggle up with the dogs and a blanket and try to take a nap.

AAWWW! Suggling with the puppies is so comforting to me. Even with one on my feet, two curled up at each hip and anothe on (yes on) my chest, I just can't think of a more comforting situation. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Sojo!!!! So nice to hear from you! I think of you every time I call Mojo.

So the good news is the meds are helping and I was able to get some sleep. So now I'm down to feeling like I have a bad cold. They swore at the doc's office that I'm not contagious, so I'm heading to work today (mostly so I can give notice, but also because I'm getting a little starved for human contact).

Still no workouts, and I've been eating horribly, but my weight's holding steady. I feel awful with the workouts and even with the food lately, so today will be more normal and hopefully I can get back to my routine by Monday.

And now I'm getting nervous about the new job (the longer commute and longer days, the departure from newspapers, etc.). But I am NOT going to use food to calm my nerves (but geez, I could use a good, sweaty workout right about now).

Hi Robin! Glad to read that you were able to get some sleep last night and that you are feeling a bit better. I imagine you'll be greatly missed at the newspaper so there will be some sad days saying good-bye to those you've enjoyed working with----but new and exciting times coming up!

Hope you feel good all day.

I'm STILL battling this crud more than two weeks later, and I'm NOT happy about it. Yesterday my temp was 101.3. Today it was back down to normal, but I still feel worn out, I'm coughing up a storm and my throat hurts.

Enough is enough, though. Tomorrow I'm going to get up at my normal time (I've been sleeping in a little, since I haven't been able to work out) and I'm going to get on the treadmill. I don't feel up to running or even a nice, steep walk, so I'll keep it at a fairly easy pace and just do what I can. But I can't stand being sedentary another day. I'm going to behave as if I feel OK, and hope my body follows suit.

YAY. Following my new plan (and after eating horribly last night), I got up at my normal time this morning and hit the treadmill. I could only run a whopping 2 minutes before I thought my heart was going to explode, so I walked the rest (and a little slower than my usual pace and at a lower incline), but still, at least I did a full hour. And I feel SO much better. Even my cough seems a bit better.
