I think Jackie's a little less self-confident than she should be, though. If she were that confident in herself, she wouldn't still be with someone who's that crazy-jealous and a little violent.

I get the feeling she's getting ready to leave, though.

(And she's hot for her attitude, but she's also hot because her body is amazing. Even to someone who doesn't play on her team.)

I definitely think Jackie is hot and it's not all attitude. I can't put my finger on it, but I can't take my eyes off of her and her voice is amazing. She almost has a dual personality, though. At work, she's all business and Ms. Confidence. At home, she's practically walk-all-over-me-girl with Mimi calling the shots. I would not be apologizing all the time like she does.

the jealousy is very cultural (mimi is brazilian). am i defending her? no way! i can say from experience that they only get crazier as time goes on. i think that my people just tend to be more understanding and empathetic because most of us have been through a world of crap just to reach adulthood. jackie admits that she is damaged.

jackie also has amazing thighs.

just a thought.

She also says she's very jealous, too. And in fairness, we really only hear her side. Who knows if she's harmed Mimi, too?

It was nice to see her having fun with the socialite, though, in the Springs. And that woman was a hottie, too. I swear, the only non-perfect body on the show is poor gastric bypass girl. I give her a lot of credit for going to a gym like that instead of one with normal people in it.

Speaking of gyms, now someone recommended Gold's Gym, which is right near the new L.A. Fitness I'm visiting tomorrow. He said they have a women-only weightlifting area, which I was hoping to find. And I know they have cardio equipment but really emphasize weights. So I think I'm going to visit both while I'm over there. Maybe ask to talk to a personal trainer, because I want to make sure I find one who's not going to scream about how low my calories are. Gold's Gym says you meet with a personal trainer before you start, anyway, so they can show you how to use the equipment properly. So I'm leaning toward them. They also check your body fat first off.

you might want to get a free pass for a couple of weeks to all the gyms you are considering-- and then use them at the same time. i do this, so that i can see how busy they really are-- and what kind of people go in there. there's nothing worse than working out after a hairy, sweating thing wanders away without wiping down the machine. :eck:

it will also allow you to compare classes side by side instead of relying on memory. most of these places will hook you up for at least 2 weeks.

No classes for me. All I want is good weight equipment and long hours. (I don't usually have to worry about crowds because I go at odd times.)

I won't be able to judge that stuff at L.A. Fitness, though. They're not open yet. But I want to join before they do, when they offer better deals.

I like the idea of Gold's Gym, though. Seems like a real no-nonsense place. I'm going to check out both, see if L.A. Fitness has a women-only weight area, and try to talk to a couple of trainers there to see how much guff I'm going to get about Medifast.

131.0. I don't even want to know, but I'm assuming it's the change in workout since my food has been exactly the same every day. I've already decided I hate the Slim in 6, though, so I don't have to worry about it. Back to Billy.

Exercise today: Did cardio first thing because that's really best for fat-burning (did it that way yesterday, too). Tried the Slim in 6 second workout, since the first was a little easy. Hate it, so I only did the first 15 minutes or so, then popped in Tae Bo Fat Blaster. Did maybe 15 or 20 of that, till he got to the part with the Billy Bands. Thought I could just substitute my resistance bands, but I'll need to do some adjusting first. And thus ended my cardio session. I'm going to do Tae Bo Abs later on, though. After my gym meetings, when I should be pretty inspired.

Woo hoo! Joined L.A. Fitness. They don't open for a month, but they won't start charging me till a month after that. So I get the first month free, plus a free session with a personal trainer to set up a workout routine and discuss my goals, my plan and how long it will take to reach my goals if I follow my plan. The signup fee was higher than at the Y (which basically had NO fee because my company paid it), but the monthly dues will be a lot less and the place is a lot nicer. I'll keep the Y membership till the gym opens. And try to actually GO.

And I got Tae Bo Cardio and Tae Bo Cardio Circuit, so I'm going to try to do one of 'em tonight since my early workout was kind of a patchwork thing.

130.8. What's the deal on this??

The temp has gone up, so maybe it's the heat. Other than that, not much has changed except that I workout before breakfast instead of after (to burn fat stores instead of the calories I just ate). Maybe that doesn't work as well on such a low-calorie plan? I don't know.

OK, I had some time to think. I'm pretty sure it's water and muscle from the heat and change in workouts. I'm not going to worry about it for now. I'm even thinking maybe I should just stop where I am, call this my goal weight and just focus on fat and muscle. Transitioning to maintenance might be a good idea so I can add a little more protein to my diet. I'll have to think about it some more.

In the meantime, I pulled on my big-girl panties and did Ramp It Up again today. Definitely felt the burn, but this time I got through everything except some of the floor work at the end. I did it AFTER breakfast, though, instead of before. I know doing it before food is better for burning body fat, but I just don't have the strength or the stamina when I get up. I probably burn more than the 100 calories in breakfast, though, so maybe it's not that big a deal. If I have time tonight at work, I'd love to see if I can find some info on how to handle that.

Hee. I'm on a lot because I have no life!!! But really, you never see posts from me between about 3 and 10 or 10:30 a.m.

And thanks. I feel like such a flake, changing my mind all the time, but I can't believe what a hard time I'm having getting into the 120s. I know it's the workouts and everything, but still. It's so discouraging sometimes. And it's too darn hot to squeeze into some itty-bitty jeans to make myself feel better!!

I think the heat is getting to me. We're back in the 100s every day and closing in on the record for most 100-degree days in a year.

hey, miss r...

if you're adding muscle and not gaining weight, then you know you're still losing fat. i would really consider beginning to transition if that's the way you are feeling. it will probably take you a couple of months to trans anyway. just a thought.

Yeah, I'm toying with the idea of just staying on program till my bday in a couple of weeks and then just transitioning after that. Considering that I'm already wearing my original goal size and that once I lose some extra fat and tone up I'll be wearing a size down from that (and I really don't want to go any lower), it's probably time.

Scary thought. But if I wait till after my trip (when I won't be 100 percent anyway; I'll have an extra lean and green a couple of times plus I'm having one free dinner for my birthday), that'll give me time to read Body for Life (I think it's supposed to come this week) and figure out a plan.

I'm also thinking of adding a bit more protein to my day. I may boil some eggs and have an egg white with my breakfast to see what happens.

131.8. Obviously I didn't gain a pound overnight (not to mention the half a pound I've been up for the past few days), especially when I haven't eaten anything different. But it still bothers me.

I'm also tired and a little sore, so I'm just going to do Tae Bo Abs today and no Slim in 6.
