Robin, sounds like you are heading for some exciting times! Best wishes that the interview goes well and that you find the perfect (tiny) interview outfit.

Thanks, guys. It's a senior editor job at a medical school in Dallas (University of Texas-Southwestern), so out of newspapers. My experience is very similar to that of the friend they were going to hire (but I think a little better, actually; a lot more management experience), so my chances are pretty darn good. Plus they're moving VERY quickly, which is a good sign. So yeah, I just need to find something decent to wear and I'm all set. But apparently after this there are still two MORE interviews I'll have to do (all the way up to VP), so I'll have to take some time off work, after all. Oh, well.

But insurance and retirement benefits are great, especially compared to the paper, and the industry's a whole lot more promising than this one (but supposedly the atmosphere is very newsroom-like and a lot of the people are ex-journalists, so that'll be great). The only negative is that it's in Dallas, but at least it's not downtown, and it's really not all THAT much farther than my commute to the paper.

Yeah, Chy, I already take a green tea/caffeine combo, although I haven't noticed a difference so far. I'm still following my no-Medifast-products policy (no real reason, except that I don't like the taste).

My poor boy was badly abused before I got him, but it used to be that thunder was the only thing he WASN'T afraid of. He learned the fear from Maggie, my other dog. And now that she's gone, he's worse than ever - and passing it along to little Mojo. Sigh.

And thanks, Mickey. I actually HATE getting this kind of clothing; I normally wear jeans and sneakers all the time (which is why I have nothing appropriate to wear in the first place). And I really hate having to buy shoes that aren't Nike Shox. But I'm gonna have to suck it up and "just do it."

Congrats on the great opportunity, Robin! While you may not like/enjoy wearing suits, I PROMISE you will be amazed at how cute suits can be in smaller sizes! They're all tailored, come in at the waste, make you look HOT! Seriously, when I was fat in a suit I felt like a lump, but now I feel like, I don't know, supremely powerful and sexy, there's no comparison. I don't even like shopping, but I just got excited for YOU!

Good luck with it, I'm sure you'll knock it out of the park!

I wore a suit when I was skinny before (also for job interviews; this was a LONG time ago). Anything with a blouse that needs to be tucked in just makes me look short.

I don't need a suit for this, though. Just something nicer than jeans. My friend wore black pants and a matching jacket, but as much as I hate skirts/dresses, I'll probably go that way. Unless it's supposed to be cold Monday.

Thankfully, they don't dress nicely all the time. I'm told they're a step above jeans and sneakers, but just to pants and comfy shoes.

Oh, gotcha. Although, as an aside, since now it doesn't apply, I don't do blouses, I wear the suit over a nice cami - feels less bulky, and gives me a smoother line.

Yeah, I couldn't handle having to dress that way every day. It's gonna be hard enough to not wear jeans (although if I can get away with black jeans, I will). It's one of the things I LOVE at newspapers. Thin or fat, I hate dressing up for work. And I really, really hate shoes that aren't sneakers.

Especially now, when something always hurts ANYway from all the workouts.

I wonder if they have a gym or something. Now THAT might be nice. Maybe some single men (hey, doctors!), too.
