Hey, Beth. How are you feeling? Did you get your tummy problems resolved?

Ugh. I was up half the night, and my stomach's been upset for a couple of days because of the Aleve (only thing that helps my hip, but it's wreaking havoc on my tummy). So I scaled my morning workout WAY back, and then still quit after 45 minutes because I was feeling so lightheaded. Stayed home from work, which was a mistake, because once my tummy started feeling better, I realized I was alone in a house with not much to do but eat. Sigh. I haven't been TOO bad, but still not one of my best days.

And weight's still up, for some unknown reason. I'm starting to think it's this week's dinner - a sort of stew with chicken breast, veggies and sweet potatoes. I finished it last night, and I'm going to lay off the sweet potatoes and see if that helps.

So there ya go ... not only am I eating too much food today, but I seem to be having more than my share of WHINE as well.

Thanks, guys. I'm fine, just having a few down days. Sigh. And then went out to dinner last night (at an Italian place, which I tend to stay away from), ordered something I thought would be relatively healthy, but the menu neglected to mention that part of it would be FRIED. :x Sigh. And of course I ate it rather than send it back or anything. Sheesh.

But the good news is it was the kick in the pants I needed. So this morning I was up on the treadmill, whether I felt like it or not, and tonight I'll do my PUSH workout. And today even though I have another meal out with friends later on, I'm going to do a better job of ordering.

I kinda want to go out for Italian food again soon, though, so I can order what I SHOULD have (and what I originally planned), which was salad and a nice bowl of minestrone soup.

Finally saw the finale of Biggest Loser: Australia, too, so I can move on. I was getting a little bored with it by the end, so maybe my treadmill workouts will be a little more fun now.

It's a personalized DVD training system, www dot push dot tv. You fill out a questionnaire, select a trainer (including Bob Harper from Biggest Loser), let them know what equipment you have, etc. They send you a DVD every month that has two strengh-training workouts with your trainer (based on your answers), a cardio workout (optional, if you prefer to do your own cardio), and a couple of bonus workouts (again, based on your preferences). You do the first strength workout three times a week for two weeks, then the second one three times a week for the next two weeks, and then you get your next DVD. Each gets progressively harder, as you presumably make progress.

Very true, Chynna, although I should have asked. Part of me probably didn't want to know.

Today's much better, though. Did my treadmill in the morning, got my stick-shift lesson (in the vehicle I don't like as much) and it went VERY well. I went all the way to fourth gear, and drove home on big streets. No stalls, no racing the engine, etc. Yay. Now I just need to hit the highway one day, and learn reverse. And practice every month or so, since the trip's a whole year away now.

But we ended up not going for breakfast, so I was able to eat more normally and avoid pitfalls. And I just finished the last of my cooking for the week, and it came out GREAT. Fritattas for breakfast (with shrooms and spinach and just a little low-fat feta), turkey chili for lunch and this great minestrone soup for dinner (made it without a recipe; just sort of based it on a recipe I found and then used whatever I felt like using). So it has tons of veggies (zucchini, shrooms, spinach, cabbage, carrots, celery, onions, tomaters), just a little lean beef, some beans and a tiny bit of pasta. I had a spoonful to check it out, and YUM. I'm gonna be a happy girl at dinnertime this week.

Even finished the story I was working on (mostly; I need to call someone for a couple quotes tomorrow). So now I get to finally sit for a while and relax. At least till I do the darn PUSH thing. I'm dreading the dolphin.

WOW girl, your menu for the week sounds SCRUMPTOUS:+))...you're on'a roll with EVERYTHING.. you DESERVE to relax:+) You are doing GREAT with that stick..by the time next year gets here you're gonna be a real live PRO...we'll hafta enter you into the INDIANAPOLIS 500 :-P

I found these 2 neat soups in the Prevention Magazine i'm gonna try, however the sodium content in one of them is a little high but i wanna try it anyway..the other one the sodium is relatively low..don't know if you have the Jauary 2008 issue but one soup is called Tex-Mex Tomato Soup (low sodium) and the other one is Tuscan Chicken Soup...both have GREAT veggie ingredients and fiber things in it, but of course vegetables are fiber bearing things DUHHH...ttyl!

Hi Robin,

One of my favorite things is soup that I jus throw together. Lots of veggies, chicken, broth, spices, etc. Yummy.

I'm on a huge soup kick lately, and it's not even that cold here!

And Chy, I'll have to check out Prevention. I'm not a big tomato soup fan, but the other one sounds good. And usually it's not too hard to cut back on the sodium some, with low-sodium broth and whatever else is in it.

And I did 10 dolphins last night. And then collapsed in a heap while Bob finished the rest. But I'm doing 'em too fast; I think if I slow them down to Bob's pace, I'll only be able to do a few of 'em. Especially since they come AFTER most of the pushups.
