Yay. Down more today, so yesterday wasn't a fluke. Ate dinner out last night, too (but was very good, since I was with a friend who's on Medifast). Also didn't get to do the tape at work yesterday because I flaked and left my workout clothes home (and then no walk last night because of dinner out; by the time I got home it was too late).

Running this morning, and then HOPEFULLY I'll do the 50-minute tape at work today. Same food as yesterday, which seems to be working pretty well for me right now. Somewhere between 1250 and 1300 calories, with about 20 percent fat and a whole lotta fiber.

Hey Robin,

Good news on being down again today! How much are you running now? I've stopped running since I started the challenge but I really need to start jogging again on my off days from the gym. I should jog tonight since I get my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow and don't know if I'll be able to make it to the gym afterwards. I'm a big baby.

It's funny, I was just posting in YOUR journal. This is my third or fourth time jogging 30 minutes (plus walking 5 as a warm-up and 10 as a cool-down). Today I increased my speed a bit for the last five minutes. Next time I'm going to increase my speed at the same point but also continue for a few extra minutes.

I'm still awed by your workouts. But I feel a little better knowing I'm 20 years older than you and spent MOST of those years overweight and sedentary.

OK, I need to figure out what I'm doing RIGHT. Normally at work, I'm VERY stiff whenever I get up from my desk. Like, so stiff I can barely walk the first few steps. But I just realized that I'm not at all stiff today and I don't think I was yesterday, either. So what the heck am I doing right all of a sudden?

You remembered to stretch, per your reminder to Biki...

Good point. I did stretch this morning, too. Mostly my hamstrings (which are also doing much better), but maybe it helped my hips, too. Duh. Thanks, Lauren.

OK, Biki, let this be a lesson to both of us. Always stretch after a workout.

Hee. Never!

And yay. Did the afternoon tape (the long one, with the jogging segments) and even remembered to stretch after (it includes a few stretches at the end, but not enough for my hamstrings, apparently).

Sigh. I spoke too soon. Last time I got up, I was my usual creaky self. Maybe it's my chair. Or maybe I wasn't sitting on my leg earlier, and I started doing it again this afternoon (a bad habit that I've had ever since I can remember).

131.8, as I continue my descent back to normalcy (and maybe beyond).

Today's a walking day, plus a tape tonight. I'm ditching the whole idea of hitting the gym after work because I HATE it, and will just try to go both weekend days.

I hope you know that you and Queenie are my exercise heros. As I build up my strength and aerobic capacity, I hope I can do what you guys can do or atleast try. I have good support at home for that too. The only thing my husband seems to know that can help me right now is running. I won't be running any marathons soon but he is 61 and can do it and is a great example of fitness for me.

Thanks, Biki. That means a lot, although I think people like Lauren and Queenie do way more than I do. You probably do as much, between the walks/jogs and stairs. I just figure I've improved a lot from where I started out, and as long as I continue to improve - slowly but consistently - I'm happy with that.

I'm curious to see how the 5K goes in a couple of weeks. I know I cover more ground when I'm not on the treadmill because my stride is so much longer, but I'm still not sure I'll be able to jog the whole thing. But I figure I'll do as much as I can, and if I need to walk for a bit, so be it. And then I'll just try to do better the next time.

And now I really, really want a a shirt from the Fun Run on "The Office" last night. (Sigh. I decided to order one, but they're on back order, so it'll be awhile. But I figure with my new collection of 5K shirts, this one will be perfect.)

One of the best comedies on TV (along with "30 Rock). IMHO, of course. Last night they did a Fun Run for people with rabies (long story). I figured I HAD to get the shirt. Since everyone knows that's the main way I pick which races I want to do - whichever ones have the coolest shirts.

HeeHee! Thanks guys!
