Thanks, guys. And in some ways, yes, in some ways, no. Sometimes I feel like I've been doing things like maintenance and working out forEVER, but sometimes it feels like I was still on the program just a few weeks ago.

Sticking around helps me probably more than it does anyone else. Although I also want to make sure newbies see that there ARE people who reached goal and stayed there. When I started, the only one who posted here from maintenance was Nancy, and it was a huge concern for me. I knew, from the statistics and from personal experience, how many people gain the weight back. Heck, even now, I know how many people keep it off for a year or two and then gain it back. I've been there.

But what I didn't have before was a place like this and the continuing support and accountability it provides (and the solid maintenance plan I'm following now). So if I have to keep posting here till I'm 90 to make sure the weight stays off, I'll do it. (Watch out, all you young whippersnappers of the future!!)

I am glad you are here as an example. I know statistically that I will be fat again. The odds are that I will die an alcoholic death too. But one day at a time, just like you and Lizabette are showing us, we don't have to be on the bad side of those stats! So thank you for sharing your journey with us. Now start dating and I will be happy.

Ha. No marathons for me. I'll be happy with 5Ks. I'm just not that dedicated!!

And un-freakin'-believable. I just got a text from my former pet sitter (the one who waited till I mentioned her stint at my house before she told me she couldn't do it - weeks after promising that she would). She said if I still don't have anyone, she'd be willing to do it (it's now a week and a half away). But she wants to be paid in advance AND get $500 for the week (I normally pay $40 a night, which is pretty darn good for what's involved, and I've never stiffed her or anything; I normally leave a check for her when I go, although I think once I forgot and gave her a check within a day of getting back home). I told her that I'd found someone else and that I didn't know what was going on with her, but that she MUST be kidding.

Wow Robin, congratulations on your one year anniversary for maintaining! That is wonderful.
Sounds like your former dog sitter is desperate for cash.

Biki cracks me up..... "Now start dating and I will be happy."

I read her journal today...she is pretty witty today ;)

Congrats again!

Wow! A year of maintenance. That's awesome!

Thanks for sticking around and showing us that not only does Medifast work, but the results can be life long.

Thanks, guys. I'm not sure how desperate she can be if she bailed on the job when it was around $300 and now wants $500. When I first asked her, she said she was broke and would be thrilled to do it because she needed the money.

Anyway, as I said a week ago, I already found someone way better. And if I'm not using vet-clinic folks to pet-sit anymore, then I can finally move on and find a new vet (I like the main vet at my clinic, but I hate the one I dealt with when I lost Maggie). Plus they're kind of far since I moved into the house. So now I can start going to someone closer.

133.2. No idea why, but I'm not gonna worry about it. It's not like I really gained a pound overnight. Got a little less sleep than normal because my aunt called late and woke me up (I think she forgets that a) I'm two hours ahead and b) I don't work nights anymore.)

Walking workout today. I've had to miss the tapes at work every day this week, and if my car is ready, I may have to miss today's, too, which I'm not happy about.

Last night I did a few pushups - the real kind, not the girly ones (this was the first time I could ever do 'em!).

Cool. I have never done a real one in my life. Just the girlie ones and the ones against the wall.

Once you master the 'big boy' pushups, you'll never go back to the girlie ones ;)

Congrats on the push-ups Robin! My form is so bad that I'm not sure I can actually consider what I do a push up. I'm hoping the fitness challenge that I start next month will help me with that.

I don't think I went down far enough when I did 'em, but considering before this I couldn't even hold the position, I figure I did pretty well. I'm going to keep working on them.

And I'm the same, Biki. I started with the wall ones, then had to work my way up to the girlie ones. So this was HUGE for me.

Anyone want tickets to my "gun show"?

Sigh. I've got the hungries today, and I'm not sure why. Yes, I cut my calories a bit this week, but I've also exercised less because I keep missing the basement tape at work. I've also been pretty stressed this week, so I'm trying to hold off in case that's what's making me feel this way. (I don't think that's it, though. I know I don't want anything unhealthy. I just want more food.)

ETA: So I decided to just eat my next meal early, but even after finishing it, I'm STILL hungry. I think I'm just going to have to eat a little extra today and not worry about it.
