Depends what you're looking for. I'd suggest checking out Collage Video online (or they have a printed catalog, too). They have an amazing selection of videos, they review them all, they're very specific about each one, and the site also includes user reviews.

If you're looking for basic cardio without too much dancey stuff, I'd start with either Leslie Sansone (Walk Away the Pounds) or George Foreman (Walk It Off With George). Very basic, not a lot of moves, always gives variations to make it more or less strenuous, and doesn't take a lot of room to do (if you can go a couple of steps in every direction, you're good).

If you want something that gets good results but will kick your butt if you're not in shape (or even if you are!), that Slim in 6 DVD set I have will do it.

Thanks, Robin. I'm gonna look for the Slim in 6 now. I'll also check out the site you recommended.

Thanks!

Oh, very brave. You might talk to Chynna before getting it. It's TOUGH (although it has three levels of workouts; the first one, where you learn the moves, is actually a pretty good workout at first). And the second one will most likely kick your butt. When I first started, it was really hard. Now I can do it, but it's still not a breeze. And I've never done the third one because I think it's even longer (the middle one is almost an hour long).

I got Slim in 6 about a year ago and I was so darn frustrated trying to follow it that I just threw it in a drawer. I have been thinking about dustin it off, but I am not very coordinated! Well, coordinated enough to dust it off, but that may be it! Maybe I'll stick with the couch to 5K and another basic strength training tape for a while.

I thought I'd put in my 2 cents on the nutcase. Sounds like it could be escalating. Maybe it's time to take the legal step and get it over with. Sounds a little scary, take care of yourself and do whatever you need to do to be safe.

OK, this lack of communication at home is driving me crazy. I don't know how I'm going to last the week. Sigh.

133.2, but after very little sleep (late night because of the show) and I'm sure plenty of sodium from the meal out (I did a GREAT job, though, I have to say, thanks to the online menu information). Didn't feel at all like working out this morning, but I did a modified version anyway.

Also, in looking back, I saw that my current stall (if that's even what it is) coincides with my increasing my morning workout. So ... I think on days that I go full on and burn the extra calories, I probably need to eat a little bit more, too.

Nothing really to say, but I was getting lost toward the bottom of the page again.

Oh, I guess the one thing I can say is I added a packet of Medifast soy crisps to get myself to a little over 1400 calories for the day. So we'll see how that goes.

Robin, I have noticed that the days I work out hard (hard for me but would be a breeze for you ;) ) that my weight typically goes up a bit the next day or stays the same for a couple days. Do you think I may need more calories on those days? I thought maybe it was water retention in the muscles, but I feel tired too. You are such an exercise pro I thought you would be a good person to ask. :D

I'm hardly an expert, Mickey (hence the continuing struggle). But if you feel weak or tired afterward, you might need an extra shake or something on those days. It can't hurt to try it for a week or two and see what happens. And if you're working up a sweat, I'd down some extra water, too. Dehydration can stall the scale and make you feel weak and/or tired, too.

Hope that helps (and wish I knew more!!).

132.8. But more important ... my cable is back!!!! It apparently came on yeterday afternoon, although I didn't know it till around 8 last night (when my phone started working). TiVo had recorded a show at 1:30 p.m., though, so apparently it was at least partially restored by then. Woo hoo!! I have to call the cable folks, though. There was no note or anything, so I don't know if they fixed it or it just fixed it itself or something. Weird.

Anyway, like I said, 132.8 after my first day over 1400 calories (about 1412, I think, plus a few extra from the Cool Whip Free that I don't usually count).

Got a bit of a headache this morning, but off to the treadmill. This afternoon is the longer workout (with four jogging intervals).

Glad the cable is back. We have DirecTV and it goes out because of storms then comes back on after the storm stops. I hate it when that happens!!! I rarely just watch TV without doing something else at the same time but I really rely on it. I have tried just music but I need the TV for background.

The thing is, it wasn't just TV. I also had no Internet at home. And no phone service, other than my cell. It was crazy, and I have no idea if they came out to fix it or what. There was no note or anything on my door.

It just sounds to weird. Could this have anything to do with your ex. Please call the Cable company. that is just so weird that it went out and then came back on by itself

I already e-mailed them this morning to ask. I doubt it was him restoring it, though. I can't imagine he took off from work to restore my cable. But if the repair folks did it, I want to know what the problem was.

Twice a day most days, three times a day usually once or twice a week. Morning cardio, a tape at work (more for socializing than anything; most of the tapes aren't very strenuous for me anymore, but at least it gets me up and away from my desk), and then weights two or three times a week.

And then small things at home almost every night. Abs work or some push-ups or whatever.
