1. I've thought about pet insurance on and off. I hear mixed things, but I'm definitely going to look into it again.
2. I wore the tanks all day long - to the museum, to lunch, and to the mall. I even started really liking them after a while. Enough that I bought a few more on sale. Only a few, though, because I don't want it to become my new uniform. But I bought some great colors (my friend helped me figure out what colors would go together because I'm kind of awful at that). They made me feel ATHLETIC, which is what I'm shooting for these days. And actually, I even had a good hair day, so I felt like I looked really cool and pretty and healthy. So yay, me! This was all very new for me.
3. I'm SO glad I went shopping with a much younger, hipper friend. I was looking at dresses for the bat mitzvah, and she was great at making sure I didn't try on stuff I'd normally wear (her comments: "that's for people who want to HIDE their body" or "that's too old-lady"). I ended up really liking two dresses at Macy's - things I would never in a million years have even considered on my own. I bought both, and figure I'll keep the receipt in case I find something I like better. I also tried on a more formal dress just because it was gorgeous and, again, not something I would normally even think about trying. It was BEAUTIFUL, but I didn't buy it because a) I have nowhere to wear it and b) it's too expensive to buy just in case I ever HAVE somewhere to wear it. But I'm glad I tried it on. It was also bizarre to go into the dressing room and have everything fit and everything look pretty good - a couple of dresses weren't as nice as the others, but I didn't hate them or refuse to come out of the dressing room in them or anything like that, you know?
So all in all, a pretty great day. I came home feeling very good about myself and my body and just my general looks, which is very strange for me. And considering I didn't track my food and I ate out and everything, I think I did quite well. For our meal out, we ended up at a local-landmark-type taco place (the other choice was this new burger place run by a very famous chef, but I decided that if I went there, I'd want to try the fries and the milkshake of the day, because they're supposed to be amazing; so we agreed on this place instead because I knew they had veggies and grilled stuff, whereas the burger place has ... burgers). I decided I didn't need a combo meal with rice or anything, so I got two small soft tacos - one with garlic shredded beef and one with grilled veggies. No chips or anything.
