Hey, thanks, Sojo. I have no business paying even THAT much for one, but I bid anyway. Maybe I can use it for a while and then sell it, too.

133.4. Woo hoo! Unfortunately, my knee was bothering me last night and I woke up with a leg cramp a couple of hours ago, so I think I'm going to take today as my day off the treadmill. I'll still do the tape this afternoon, though.

And I got outbid on the BodyBugg, which is just as well. It was more than I should be spending.

Once again, things aren't going to work out quite as I'd planned. Teemu hurt his ... wrist, I guess. So we're going to the vet this morning and I'll be a few hours late for work, so no afternoon workout today. Guess it's going to be a full day off.

Biki: Just posted in your journal. I'm so glad you're back!!!!

Sojo: Darn you. I ended up bidding on a second one after losing the first one, and I won. Sigh. Just what I need after my $167 vet bill. Ah, well, it's only money, right? Money I don't have, but money.

Anyway, this makes tonight easier. I'm going to bail on the dinner because I don't want to leave the kids alone any longer than I have to. Teemu's supposed to rest and not play or go outside any more than necessary, which means I need to be around as much as possible to monitor. Because short of giving Mojo away or knocking her out, she's not going to leave him alone.

Well, despite the expense, I'm getting jazzed about the BodyBugg now. I paid $35 less than the other one sold for AND I got free shipping (the other was about $10 for shipping, I think). And with only five for sale on there, I'm guessing I can resell it when I'm through, either on eBay or to a friend or something.

And I checked the Web site, and it's only $40 for three months plus two coaching sessions. Which is all I'll need, I'm sure. More than I need, probably. But they say it's no problem to get a Web-only contract and have a used device, so that's good. I'm so curious to see what it comes up with!

133.0. Sure, things finally start working just when I order the darn BodyBugg. It'll still be useful, though, I think.

Off to the treadmill, and then today is the 45-minute tape that includes four higher-intensity intervals. Maybe some more abs tonight (tomorrow is gym today - legs and butt).

Okay, so now I want one of those gizmos/gadgets. I love gadgets (and gizmos).....I don't need one, I'm not really exercising yet (would be interesting to use it on a babysitting day versus a 'me' day though). Robin, let me know when you want to sell it--if you remember. ;) If I've not already given into the temptation to find one on my own.....then I'd be interested.

'A fool and their (her) money are soon parted' is one of my life mottos I'm afraid......

Ha. Will do, Tawanda. I'm guessing I'll use it a month or so and be done with it. It's not like my routine varies all that much, so the readings should be pretty consistent. (And maybe by then you will have started doing some walking or something. Although I'm guessing with the babies and the animals, you're pretty active already.)

In the meantime, I'm glad to finally be seeing some progress. Maybe Tom Venuto is right, and in a couple more weeks I WILL be a fat-burning machine.

My only variation right now is to adjust my timing a bit because my six meals have been kind of close together and he says five may be better (his reasoning being two hours isn't enough time between meals because you're still digesting the first one when you eat the second one). So yesterday, it just kind of worked out that way because my vet visit messed up my normal schedule. And today, with the earlier afternoon workout (we start early Thursdays because it's so long), I'm going to try to eat the same food as normal in five meals instead of six and see how it goes. I did notice yesterday that I wasn't counting the minutes till my afternoon snack after having a somewhat larger lunch.

So today's food (mostly for my own benefit):
7:15 or so: fritatta with egg substitute, spinach, peppers, a little low-fat feta
10:45 or 11: spinach-feta pie (umm, basically the same ingredients as breakfast but in different proportions and no peppers) and yogurt
2 p.m.: two chicken-breast roll-ups (on low-carb tortillas), 1 cup blueberries
5 p.m.: two hardboiled egg whites, 1/2 cup chile-lemon pistachios
7:30-ish: chicken breast, green beans, 2 sugar-free fudgsicles with Cool Whip Free (speaking of which, I'm going to try fat-free Redi-Whip next week instead; Hungry Girl says it's 5 calories instead of 15 for the same 2 tablespoons, and it has no high-fructose corn syrup)

Whew. Just did the Walk and Box tape. It's a pretty good workout.

Anyway, just wanted to note that I switched my first two work meals. I want to remember, in case having fruit later in the day messes me up.

Hi Robin,

I've been reading through your journal (not ALL of it of course). You are quite an inspiration and role model for others on MF. You have done phenomenal on MF and maintenance. I have never been a real exerciser, but I am changing. The more I lose the more I think about ways to take better care of my body and get in shape. Right now its walks but I think I will do the couch to K5 program. A while back I met a personal trainer through a friend. I really liked her and may look her up soon.

I don’t know that I will ever be as dedicated as you though!

Mickey, I never thought I'd be this way, either (and I bet Lizabette feels the same). You might surprise yourself!!

I was reading through your journal, too (thankfully, it's a much quicker read than mine right now!!). You sound like a great addition to our little family. Welcome!!

Yay!! On our free-book table at work (books sent for review), I found what seems to be EXACTLY what I've been looking for. It's called "Joining the Thin Club' (it also has a Web site, thethinclub dot com). Written by a woman who lost 80 pounds with a psychologist. The subtitle is "Tips for Toning Your Mind After You've Trimmed Your Body."

I've only read the first few pages, but I'm already hooked. From Page 5:
An attractive pediatrician who lost a lot of weight by dieting says that a day doesn't go by when she doesn't scrutinize the mirror, seeking some validation as she tries to assure herself that there really is a difference between her former face, wreathed in roundess, and her former size 18 body, and her new delicate, high-cheeked appearance and size 6 persona. "I just don't see what everyone else is talking about," she confides. "I just see the bra bulges and catch myself eating things I shouldn't all the time."

Umm, sound like anyone we know?

I'm going to read it this weekend, and start checking out the Web site when I have time. But I'm so glad I found this before anyone else snagged it. Chapters include "Fear of the Fat Coming Back," "When the Goal Is Gone," "Building a Better Body Image," Dealing With Backslide Temptations," "Dressing the New You," "How to Accept Compliments" and "Plastic Surgery." And many others I didn't list.

Hey Rockin Robin,

You always have good things to share, going to check out the website later.
You asked a bit ago what I did in my other life as a thin athletic person.
Well, I had a trainer for 5 years. He had a varied approach, posture alignment, yoga, cardio, strength training. He was good, but close to attilla the hun. However ,that was pivital training for me.
I use to run 6 miles, 4 days a wk and have done numerous kick butt boot camps. I trained to climb Mt Hood and I ski. I love to sweat and push myself to the max. err, when Im in that zone.
My latest favorite thing are spinning classes. Tho I have not done them since starting mf.I do feel now tho that Im ready to hit it. It took awhile for the body to adjust I think to the low calories.
so now I have captured your journal. I love to read and live vicariously throught your workouts Thanks,
have a good evening.

Robin, I looked at the Bodybugg site and in the FAQs it says that if you have a used system you need to pay $199 for 3 month subscription to their site. Does this mesh with what you know or were expecting? I didn't watch the video explaining the Bodybugg, the babies were fussy this afternoon (cutting teeth).
