Hey Robin,

I;m a little late, but I'm glad to hear the trainer wasn't as bad as predicted. I followed your lead and did the Shape incline workout yesterday. It was a little tough (ok, little is not the correct word) :? I made it through it, but I was holding on much more than I would have liked. I think I will use it as my Sunday workout on those weeks when I feel like doing a Sunday workout. It was either that or go up and down a pretty steep hill here on campus for 30 minutes. I just happened to pick up the Shape magazine while in the bookstore and opted to stay inside. Thanks for the heads up :)

It is also really encouraging to see you recover so quickly after a sidetrack to McDonald's. Thanks for setting such a good example. Have a great day!

Oh, I always do (or pretty much always). It's the whole "free meal" concept. I had more than one this week because of the issue Saturday, but I always jump right back on.

I actually started doing that when I was ON Medifast, because I wanted to prepare myself for maintenance and break the "all or nothing" mentality that so many of us have. So if I eat something unhealthy once, I don't just continue for the rest of the day or anything like that. I eat it, I'm done, and I move on.

Working on that concept myself. Not that I need free meals, either, but the concept of 'free meal' implies a better choice than 'free day,' which I was playing with yesterday.

Called the local "Y" today and am going to take a tour this week and maybe become a member - they have lots for the baby, too - and I'm actually Tivo-ing exercise shows off the Fitness channel. The next step is to actually DO the exercise, but it's a start! Thanks for leading the way.

I still can't believe I, the original couch potato, can inspire people to exercise. That's so bizarre to me!!

Oh, and I may have figured out at least one of my many issues. My FitDay entry for low-carb tortillas was off by a bit, so I think I've been undercounting my calories all this time. Not by a huge amount, but maybe enough to make a difference.

I tried one day, but it's too hot to leave Mojo out that long, so she came in and started attacking me (it's what she does when I try to work out at home; on the treadmill, I need to close her out of the room to keep her away). There's not much room in my bedroom, but I'll have to try to do it there, because I can't lock her out of the family room.

After my weighted-lunges success at the gym Saturday, though, I can't imagine it'll be that hard. (Did I report on that here? He had me do lunges halfway across the room and back, carrying barbell plates. And I DID them. A year ago, I couldn't do one lunge - even stationary, with no weights - without toppling over.)

girl you're too MUCH!...that's great that you're able to do those extended lunges:+)))..when i do lunges it hurts me on each side in the crevicies of my pelvic/thigh area...feels like i've been straddling something and i don't have a horse...so i have to limber up a bit more i guess...i truly DO admire your exercise regiment!

Thanks. My butt STILL hurts from that Saturday workout, though. Between the lunges, the butt machine (where you do those donkey kick type things) and the little cardio interval (which was going up and down on a step, with weights), he worked it pretty hard. But that's a good thing.

I wish I could see him again this weekend instead of having to wait. But I have to drive up to Oklahoma City with a friend to deliver a kitten she rescued that is being adopted by some woman in Illinois. (Don't ask.)

I'm going to do upper body tonight or tomorrow, though. And lower body again Thursday or Friday. And then upper body on the weekend without him. I'm trying to do a two-day split, three times a week, which is what the book says for intermediates. I decided I'm really not such a beginner after all.

135.4. Don't know what's up with that, but I'm still waiting for it to drop back down. OTOH, I finally remembered to measure today before I ate or anything, and compared with where I was when I reached goal, I've lost a bit in the legs, I'm the same around the top, and my middle and butt are ALMOST down to where they were then (less than half an inch difference, I think). But I'd still like my weight to be lower, too.

Did my regular morning workout, plus tacked on a few extra minutes at the end. Will do the tape this afternoon, and lift weights (upper body, abs) tonight.

You continue to be my workout inspiration. You, Lizabette,Queenie and Suzy. I will need you even more in a few months when I hit transition and maintenance. Thank you so much for sticking around and carrying the message so we can learn instead of saying I hit maintenance, let me get on with my life. Thanks for letting us see it can still be a struggle sometimes. And it goes without saying that I love your soap opera adventures!

Ha! Thanks, Biki. I'm hoping that now that I've adjusted the calorie count on my tortillas and am eating the amount I think I'm eating, I'll see some better progress. Or maybe not. But I'm reassured by the tape measure. At least SOME of my weight gain must be muscle. (And most of that was without lifting much and just doing cardio. Now that I'm lifting again, and seeing the trainer regularly, maybe I'll see some better progress.)

Oh, I almost forgot my NSV the other day. I was getting a T-shirt at Spamalot, and trying to figure out what size, and the guy behind the counter looked me up and down and said, "You've got to be a small. You're pretty petite." Sigh. (Of course, I bought the medium anyway. I worry about shrinkage. And about it being too tight around the chest.)

OK, special for Biki. I just got an e-mail from Dallas Guy. Who apologizes for being "MIA" and explains that he's been in a mad rush, interviewing for a new job. Except ... well, he's been checking my profile every day or so, so I'm not really buying it. And he's on his way to interview again for the company, in Philadelphia. But he wants to meet or at least talk.

So a) like I said, not really buying it. He hasn't been so busy that he can't log on and look at my profile, and it's suspicious that he got so "busy" immediately after a small argument over e-mail about meeting at night.

And b) he's interviewing in Philadelphia? Does that mean the job is there? He didn't say, but if it is, why on Earth would I bother meeting him now?

Too many issues. Doesn't sound like he is above board.
