I know, so do I. Although I've been better in the new house, because I tend to use a different bathroom during the day and the scale's too far away. So I'm down to maybe six times a day. Yay, me.

And I'm looking forward to meeting you, too, Nancy. I feel like I've known you and Jan forEVER at this point!!

Well, despite my two pickles yesterday AND not getting nearly enough sleep thanks to spending half the night looking for an escaped dog (yes, he's OK, thankfully), I'm at 137.8. Not quite my low from last week, but good, considering.

And I'm told pig wire is my solution, better than chicken wire to keep the dogs in but still let rabbits and other small critters escape if they're being chased. My contractor guy said he'd put it in for me, and until then, the dogs won't be out there unsupervised anymore. Sigh. I can't even think about what could have happened to Teemu, or the visions I had of him. Between traffic and coyotes and the horse behind our yard ...

Sheesh! It's a good thing you had those pickles because you must have sweated a quart of water chasing the escapee last night! It's also a good thing you are thinner and healthier and faster - Teemu will have to wear athletic shoes to get away next time. Pig wire, huh? Maybe I need some around my refrigerator...

Robin, you are doing great! You are an awesome person!

Thanks, you guys. As if last night weren't bad enough (I never did CATCH him; I never even SAW him - the little guy finally just came back home on his own), now it looks like I'm getting shingles again. Had 'em last December, some of you may remember. At least this time I recognize the symptoms, so I'm catching it earlier. But I had a horrible time on the medication last time, so I hope that doesn't happen again. I recall eating an entire bag of chocolate chips and a can of pistachios in two sittings. Sigh. I am NOT going to do that again, drugs or not.

Hmmmm Robin,
I'm reading reading reading your journal. It is sooo interesting. You and I could share adventures. I'm sitting here with two kittens......hmmmm Mindy the animal lover. Oh and just think if you hadn't been on MF the last year you would not have met all of us "wonderful" people and probably not parted with all those pesky pounds either. Hmmmm you're sooooo tiny now I'm going have you sit next to Nancy. I don't want to look Like a mountain :?

I gotta say, it was fun at the doc's when they had me get on the scale and asked what my normal weight was. I said somewhere between 135 and 140 (I was a little higher there, but I figure I was fully clothed AND I'd just had a couple of bottles of water before I left the house).

Still, last time I was there, I was about 30 pounds heavier, I think.

Robin and Ma of the delinquent dog...

I am  sorry that you are getting shingles...I DO understand about the issue of the medications which can create  foody madness episodes - remember moi? I take prednisone.

It is tough to not give in to the empty belly syndrome and to avoid the chippers and stachios but it IS possible. Have an extra serving of oatmeal or a puddin' packet - eat half a packet, take the meds and eat the other half thirty or forty minutes later. Load up on :water: water, get some :snooze: sleep (what's that?!).

Jan, I am :x NOT sittin' next to Robin or you - you two are too skinny, too pretty and have fewer wrinkles than me - I will find a really old wrinkled person that hasn't been on the program for more than a week!

The thing is, I wasn't even hungry. I just got the idea of those darn things in my head and became completely obsessed. I tried eating something else to divert myself - even pudding or a bar, figuring at least it was chocolate. But noooooo.

And believe me, not skinny yet. When they weighed me at the doctor's office, even though I was far lighter than last time, she asked if I'd just had dinner. Sigh.

ETA food for the day:
Oatmeal (2 bottles water)
Chili, half pack crackers (2 bottles water)
RTD
Soy crisp snack (1 bottle water)
Lamb chop, green beans (1 bottle water)
Pudding (1 bottle water)
Pudding (1 bottle water)
Bed early, so missed my sixth shake

I hope that nice round number doesn't bug you too much, Robin. I noticed it's up a teensy bit from your other report and I'm sure that .3 of a pound increase is due to stress, extra exercise from chasing Teemu, shingles and white coat fever from the doc visit. Betcha it will be lower tomorrow!

Your meal plan looks great. I always chuckle when I see oatmeal on there.

For successful weight loss and weight management, it is really important to plan our meals ahead of time and have them handy. I still plan my daily meals. I lay out all of the packets and have the refer loaded with the lean & green grub in advance of meal time - it keeps me thinny.

P.S. re:
Soy crisps meal

R, just in case some Looky Lous might get confused, let's re-name those soy crisps as snacks and not use the term 'meal', okie doke? ;)

Wellllll ... that's mostly for my records, because there's a difference between my soy crisp snacks and meals. Snacks are the Medifast packets. Meals, I'm afraid to say, are a different brand that makes 'em with almost identical nutrition info but in 100-calorie packs. I don't recommend that anyone else do this, but for me, it seems to work out OK since I'm still having five Medifast meals and a lean and green the days I do that (it's instead of my extra Medifast meal and my one daily snack; bars seem to interfere with my weight loss and have too many carbs for me, and it's too darn hot here in the summer to tote around an RTD, so this is the most portable meal I can get).

And no, the bouncing on the scale doesn't bother me. I ALWAYS fluctuate. I kinda post that so other people can see that it's normal (for some of us, anyway) to fluctuate all the time. I don't let it bother me because I know so much can affect the darn scale.

And the oatmeal makes me laugh, too. But at least I'm down to once a day instead of three-four a day, like I had when I first became an oatmeal convert.

Wow. The salad was fabulous. I don't think I realized how much I missed Greek salads till now. And I forgot to add that I'm doing a Pilates DVD tonight (trying to just do it twice a week for now, but I need to do SOMEthing other than squats and push-ups off the wall). It's too hot to do much walking, even at night, plus I'd rather work my muscles anyway.

Robin ~

Thanks for the clarification. And you are so right - weight fluctuation is normal and when it happens, there is no need to get our knickers in a wad, the scale will eventually move when we follow the plan. I can easily go up 3-4 pounds if I've been chained to my office chair too long and fail to slurp enough :water: 'course the Bread & Butter Pickles couldn't possibly contribute to that! ;)

137.2, so back to my low from last week.

Slight deviation from plan yesterday. I had oatmeal instead of one of my puddings, because I'm on my last box till my next order comes in a few days. Gotta ration.

Shingles, or whatever it is, seems to be clearing up. Didn't do a full pilates workout yesterday, though, because the new DVDs I got were terrible. Sigh.

Aaaaanyway, today's plan:
Oatmeal (2 bottles water)
Chili (2 bottles water)
RTD
Soy crisp snack (1 bottle)
Greek salad with chicken, fat-free feta (1 bottle)
Pudding (1 bottle)
RTD
Either RTD or oatmeal or pudding (1 bottle)
