I know he is. But the first e-mail was actually necessary, because it included the cost of the tickets. He should have the check today or tomorrow, so I'm hoping he'll send the tickets then (they were electronic, so he should just be able to e-mail them to me). If not, I'll bother him for them. And once that's done, I won't be responding to any more e-mails.

Ha. I think EVERYone hates the Red Wings except the actual fans. But fans of any other team just loathe them.

Sunday's win was especially sweet because Teemu scored the winning goal. My own Teemu couldn't have been more proud. :)

Can't wait to see how the Ducks do tomorrow.

Not a Ducks fan really - went to a few games their "innaugural" season - have my pucks and whistle somewhere. I was a Kings fan - had a thing for Rob Blake and then goalie Daniel Berthiaume. And I suppose Wayne Gretzky - read his bio in middle school LOL A shop out by my house use to have signings all the time. I have a whole rack of signed goalie pucks and of course the pictures that will never see the light of day with the players themselves....Thomas Sandstrom, Tony Grananto, Marty McSorly, and a slew of others. Rob Blake being my prized one. Dad had to get the Gordie Howe signed puck for some reason.

When I lived in OC, I averaged two or three games a week when they were home. I had a friend with season tickets, fifth row, just off center. Really nice. I got very spoiled. :)

Had a very small binge last night (just a little peanut butter and two small pieces of chocolate), but my weight was OK today. I'm kinda wondering if my calories have been too low. I tried to drop 'em down to where they were when I was new on maintenance and at my lowest (around 1100). But then I started thinking that I wasn't working out so often back then. Usually just once a day, alternating cardio and resistance. But now I'm working out twice a day, and for somewhat longer sessions. And started some resistance training again. All of which means I should probably be taking in more calories than I was back then. Which might explain why I was starving a couple of hours after dinner and grabbed for whatever I could find the fastest (which was pb and the chocolate).

Anyway, something to think about. I'm boosting myself back up to around 1200-1300 to start with.

Oh, and I heard from the prof, but I have no idea what his deal is. He e-mailed me a couple of weeks ago with his profile. I e-mailed back with some friendly questions. And now he e-mailed "Hi, Robin. - Jim." That was it.

Tell me he's not another clueless doofus. (Speaking of which, no word from him.)

Why don't you just go to a bar to pick up men like the rest of us? You can drink Diet Coke or club soda.

I'm not a bar kinda person (too loud, too noisy, too smoky, too much drinking). And it's not usually a good spot to find single Jewish men, at least not in Texas. It's also not the best way to meet people if you're shy. And cautious.

I don't think meeting people online is any more dangerous than meeting them online. You have just proven that. I used to meet a lot of single Jewish men in bars in Dallas, but I understand if it is not your scene.

I'm not in Dallas, though. There's a huge difference between Fort Worth and Dallas. But in any case, it's definitely not for me.

And heck, JDG might not have been for me, but I knew an awful lot about him before we met - and all from the relative safety of my home. I knew his name, where he lived, where he worked, etc. And not just because he told me, since obviously people can and do lie. But he had e-mailed me from work, so I knew that he worked there and could have him checked out by other people who work there.

Same will happen with this guy, if it gets that far. If he's a professor at the university here, I can easily have him checked out. Heck, I can just ask our education reporters about him. I just need his last name.

I would worry too much being alone at a bar. Plus there's all that time spent at the bar being bored and uncomfortable. And everything at first is based solely on appearance. Which I'm not at all comfortable with.

Anyway, he finally sent me a longer e-mail. He apparently teaches engineering (I know). And he's from the East Indies, which makes me wonder if he's really Jewish. It's possible, but not common.

Meanwhile, the editor of the paper just e-mailed my boss and was so taken with one of my headlines that he wanted to know who wrote it and told her to give that person an afternoon off. Cool!!

Glad you got a longer email.

I was going to comment earlier that he probably sent the short one to just to say "he was alive" and would be sending something more substantial later. I know I do that often - don't have the time to sit and write so I'lls end off a little email.

I've done that, too, but I usually say more than "hi." Like, hi, I'm not ignoring you but I don't have time to respond now. I'll write more later. Whatever. He can spell, which is one positive. But he's clearly not from this country. He writes about how he enjoys "the company of mature ladies" and how his ex-wife was about his age (as am I). Mature ladies?

I know what he means, but ... clearly not raised here.

Congrats on the afternoon off!
So........what was the headline?

And, what ever happened to eharmony vet dude?
Did you see where I tried to hook you up with Kelly's BIL?
Her husband seems so sweet (and has gorgeous eyes), and the whole family is
awesome ~ and Jewish, so I asked her if there was a brother 'cause I knew a great Jewish chick in Texas!!
...turns out he does have a brother but he's just a kid.
Oh yeah, and they're in Canada...
Sorry, but I tried! ;)
