Dogma, this is grown-up stuff, and not fun. I hope it isn't too hard but it might be. Just go in there with firm resolve and get the job done.

I just don't even know how. Phone is out of the question this time around. I'd meet him somewhere near work, but I know he's going to want to say goodbye to the dogs (I know no one wanted him at my house last time, but I'm as sure as anyone CAN be that he wouldn't do anything violent or anything like that).

And I know it's grown-up stuff; that's why I hate it. I've lived THIS long without being a grown-up. I was kinda hoping to go the next 20 years or so. (My usual M.O. would be to just be a b---- to him - or more of one than usual - till he lost interest, but I know how cowardly that is. Plus I don't think it'll work. Although he does seem to be calling me less lately. I keep thinking one of these days he's bound to lose interest. Because who wants to be with someone who's always making you feel kind of stupid?)

What I used to do rather than dump men was just refuse their calls or hang up the second I heard their voice. Very mature of me....

Hee. I've been known to feign sleep while we were watching movies or TV or whatever just to avoid conversation. And then they'd dump me because I was boring. Or narcoleptic.

Okay Robin, I'm only saying this because you know I love you and I know that you have a great sense of humor...

So imagine this ~ JDG is totally up on pop culture and politics, all current events.
He's voted since he turned 18-years-old and shares your political views exactly.
He isn't really diabetic and doesn't need to watch his sugar intake.
In fact, he actually hates BBQ.
He knew exactly how weird it was to call 47 times that night
...and so on, and so on, and so on...
And all this time he's been thinking, "OMG!! What do I have to DO to get rid of this chick???"

Bwaaahaaahaaahaa!!!

Ha!!! Although all he'd have to do to get rid of me is stop calling. I still never initiate anything. Sigh.

Weight dropped 0.2. Didn't have the energy to run, so I walked at a big incline again. I'm going to give it a couple of days, in the hope that it's just that I'm coming off the weekend carbs. If my energy level doesn't pick up, I'll add back a few more calories and see how that goes. I was pretty low yesterday, and Sunday I ate a fair amount at brunch, but then ate pretty much nothing else the rest of the day.

And did I mention Mojo killed a SECOND bunny yesterday?! This one wasn't ... intact when I found it. Big, heavy, sorrow-filled, grossed-out sigh. I'm gonna post in the What's Shaking area, but does anyone know if that fox urine stuff really deters bunnies? Because apparently seeing their friends and family go into my yard and not return doesn't work.

Robin, I've heard that bunnies don't like the smell of marigolds.

Thanks, Jo. That'd be a LOT of marigolds, to circle the whole yard. I think I'm better off trying the fox stuff.

Although maybe word is spreading. I haven't seen any bunnies since Monday evening. And apparently neither has Mojo.

Meanwhile, weight unchanged. I seemed to do better last week, when I had more calories. The past few days have been more Medifast-like. So I think I'm sticking with plan A, and just trying to watch things more carefully on the weekends. Which should be easier once I break up with JDG. Which will probably be this weekend, because now he's irritating me more and more, and I find myself being very short with him in e-mails.

Yesterday it was a TiVo question that he easily could have looked up himself, and then after I answered it and sent him a link to the manual, he said something about phone support and basically complained (jokingly, but still) about my asking him to look it up himself.

Today he e-mailed to say he'd only watched part of the game last night and he asked what the final score was. Rather than taking 5 seconds to look it up himself. I know they're small things, but I do NOT want to be his sole source of information, and I'm really, really sick of it. And I think he still thinks it's fun and playful, even though I've made it clear that I don't. So it's this weekend. And he can cry and whatever, but I'm not changing my mind.

But part of me is sad, because I'll actually miss going out and doing fun stuff. I still don't have many friends in the area, and very few who have the same days off. The one person who does - and who doesn't also have kids - is unemployed and has no money to do anything.

A friend suggested that, but I don't think it would work very well. A) I just don't like him enough to hang out with him, and I've pretty much lost all respect for him at this point. And B) He's way too hung up on me, and I think he'd just keep hoping I'll change my mind.

The good news is I'll have more time to go to the gym and relax and all that. And I'll just have to make more of an effort to get out and meet someone else. Now that I have normal work hours, I can attend some of the Jewish singles stuff in the area. And hopefully soon I'll hear back from the NEW JDate guy, a professor at the college in my town who e-mailed me. I e-mailed back a few days ago (but it took me about a week to respond).

Umm, if I had an easier time with the action, I wouldn't have so much trouble finding someone!!!

He's definitely tapering off with the e-mails and calls, though. So maybe he HAS finally sensed that I've mentally checked out already. Usually that's all I need to do to get rid of someone.

Hey, no prince needed. Just someone who's Practically Perfect. :) Or at least is somewhat independent and interested in what's going on in the world.
