No news. Had fish last night for dinner (yay, me!). The veggies were drenched in oil, but I did what I could to get it off (less for the calories than for the taste - blah).

Walked this morning at a 5 incline. Will do the tape this afternoon.

And was a good girl and true to my word. JDG didn't take home the sugar-free ice cream (I told him I wouldn't allow it to stay in my house), so the whole untouched container went straight into the trash, along with the brisket and mushrooms and green beans and whatever else he brought over that night). I hate to waste it like that, but better to waste it than to waist it. Sigh. Also didn't touch the popcorn he got at the movie yesterday afternoon (and I swear, that is going to drive me crazy; the man is diabetic, and he hadn't eaten all day and then ordered a big thing of popcorn with butter). I've never met anyone so completely clueless about nutrition.

But that was an aberration! Most days I leave the house once to go to Starbucks or to walk around the block 3 or 4 times and my two AA friends have recently slipped and are unreliable and shaky. Not that I didn't slip myself several weeks ago but it was one evening not a week and I didn't get arrested for a DWI.

Yipes. I'm glad it was just a brief slip, at least.

All this activity is definitely weird for me. It's fun, but I get so tired, too. Yesterday we barely did anything (well, I did run all my errands earlier in the day plus get some stuff ready for the week's food), but I was falling asleep when we were watching the Amazing Race finale. Sigh.

This Sunday we're not doing anything, though. He doesn't know that yet, but I'm standing firm. Mother's Day is always my day to either hang out alone or just go out with a friend who also has no mom.

Same old, same old. Weight holding steady but not really dropping, although I FEEL a bit lighter and/or flatter (in the tummy area) today. So whatever.

Walked at a 5 incline again today, and will do the tape this afternoon. Tomorrow I'm going to mix it up a little and do my run/walk, without the incline. I added some push-ups yesterday, too, and I'm going to do some more of that kind of stuff (push-ups, ab work) again tonight. I'm thinking about going to the gym Sunday to start lifting again and make an appt with the trainers. They owe me a bunch of appointments because it's been so long since I've been in.

Small drop today. I'm hoping to keep it going by sticking to my plan all week and even through the weekend.

Walked/ran this morning, and am doing a tape this afternoon (although we might switch it up and do something new today; I got a cheap DVD player so we're not limited to VHS workouts anymore). Also did a bit of strength training at home yesterday (punching with weights, crab walking; stuff I saw in a Shape magazine article that looked like fun).

I used to HATE exercise, believe me. People used to talk about how they missed it when they didn't do it, and I never thought I'd feel that way. But if I miss a day - even my scheduled days off - I just don't feel right.

Aw, thanks, DeDe.

So today I'm up the same 0.4 I was down yesterday. Only things different were I had a pickle (so maybe the sodium), my chicken breast was maybe half the size of the other ones in the package (so maybe my cals were a little low) and no olives (I've been having 1-2 the past few days).

So tonight's chicken breast is bigger, and I'll skip the pickle and hope for the best tomorrow morning.

No workout this morning, since this afternoon's tape is the longer one (3 miles, about 45 minutes). But I feel less perky than normal, so I think next Thursday I'll at least do a short run or something in the morning in addition to the tape.

Ditto on that! I'm at least thinking about it because of you, Robin. That's more that I could say a year ago. Baby steps, right?

I am the same way but I only walk 1.6-1.8 miles a day.

That's more than I did before, Biki.

I just wish I'd see more results. I'm still trying to find the balance between food intake and workouts. I find it hard to believe I'm eating too much (usually 1200-1300 calories a day lately), given that I work out hard for over an hour a day. But I'm too afraid to increase my calories, and I'm always tempted to lower them.

The good news is I FEEL great, and full of energy. I just really wish I could drop these couple of pounds.

Hey Robin,

I bought some SF fudgesicles and creamsicles. I tried a creamsicle tonight. Yummy! And only 25 calories! Thanks for the tip. I think they may help with the occasional evening boredom munchies.

Isn't that the most important thing? You must be the picture of health. How many pounds do you feel you need to drop?

Need to? Maybe 4. Want to? 8 or 9. Or 10. But no, it's not enough to feel good and energetic. I want to be more comfortable with my body, too. And although a good part of that is in my head, some of it isn't. Besides, I know those 4 pounds can quickly turn into 40.

I'm really frustrated lately. I've been much more careful lately, and I'm still not getting anywhere. I can't believe I'm eating too many calories, unless my metabolism has become even slower than it was before. Am I really going to have to stick to 1,000 or 1,100 calories a day for the rest of my life while working out an hour a day???

Anyway, I'm going to TRY to eat Medi-grub all day today so I can save a few calories for dinner out. If I can manage to do that without keeling over when I work out. Maybe if I do Medifast during the week, I can have a splurge meal or two on the weekend and be OK. But again, I'm afraid it's just not going to be enough calories.
