MakeMeThinner Family ~
We received this from Take Shape For Life and wanted to share it with you.
To All Take Shape for Life Health Advisors,
As you are most aware, Hurricane Katrina, one of the most devastating storms to make landfall in the U.S. in American history, roared through the Gulf Coast Monday, killing an untold number of people and leaving millions of people with no power, no water and no home. The city of New Orleans has been devastated, with about 80 percent of the city flooded and some areas still under 20 feet of water.
As we watched the news coverage of the catastrophic effects of this disaster, we found ourselves wondering what we could do to help, as I'm sure you have done, as well.
We, Take Shape for Life, can assist our family members, friends and neighbors in the storm-ravaged communities through the efforts of the American Red Cross, The Federal Emergency Relief Agency (FEMA), the Salvation Army and the Blood Bank.
The American Red Cross has mounted the largest mobilization of resources in its history for a single natural disaster. As victims of this disaster begin to rebuild their lives, the Red Cross is by their side to provide safe refuge, food, emergency healthcare, mental health counseling and other assistance.
Listed below (and on our website) are ways that you and your friends can participate in efforts by the American Red Cross, FEMA, the Salvation Army and the Blood Bank. Let's all do our part to assist those in distress in the wake of Hurricane Katrina as they work to rebuild their lives and communities.
Please give this the widest possible distribution.
Not for self, but for others,
Michael McDevitt,
President, Take Shape for Life and Medifast
Leo Williams,
Chairman of the Board, Take Shape for Life
