Diet Dr. Pepper Berries and Cream

Postby just_julie » April 13th, 2006, 3:18 pm

Anyone try the new Diet Dr. Pepper Berries and Cream? I really like it. I was afraid the berries would be too much, but the stronger flavor is the cream to me. I think the added sweetness makes it taste really close to a real DP. I've never really liked Diet DP because of the after taste, but this leaves me thinking I'm drinking the real thing. I'm sure a lot of that has to do with how my tastes haves changed...

Ohhhh. I'm really excited to see that they have a diet version of this. I've never drank a lot of sodas, but I love Dr. Pepper and any variation they make of it.

I'll have to give it a try.

Never even heard of it!

JROTC was doing a fundraiser and I now have 24 bottles of Deit Dr Pepper under my desk. I think a few of those other berry ones thrown in there might sound good right now.

I like diet cherry vanilla Dr. P, so I might pick a bottle of the berry up

I have never liked Dr. Pepper or the Diet version, although my entire family loves it and can't live without it. I may give it a try based on your post, Julie.

I'm with you Ark, Dr. Pepper tastes like cough syrup, IMO. NASTY!

I have never been a fan of Dr. Pepper either, although my hubby and kids like it. I think when I was younger I had heard that it was (originally) made with prune juice and mentally, that did it for me! (especially since my mom made us eat prunes about once a month for 'dessert'!)

That's actually an old Urban Legend. Dr. Pepper never used prune juice in their formula. That would really matter much to me anyway though, since I think I am one of the few people under the age of 60 that likes prunes (and plums).

I like the new berries and cream but if you are in a smidge of a bad mood, it COULD remind you of grape-flavored cough syrup...Like when your hubby is chowing down on an ice cream sandwich and you are nursing your diet soda. Hypothetically speaking, coff coff! that is... ;)

A friend gave me a can of the B&C Diet Dr. P . . . yum yum yum!! It was very good. I have always liked Dr. Pepper, so those of you who don't may not like this flavor, either, but to me it's one of the best diet drinks out there.

I wonder what it would taste like with added to a vanilla shake?

I was a huge Dr Pepper fan BM....no not what you think...it stands for Before Medifast! I gave up caffeine when I started MF (which was only for me I needed to give up caffeine as I was addicted to it) but I had to try this so I picked up a bottle today and only drank about a quarter of it then gave the rest to my daughter. It was ok but not something I can't live without. Whoever said it tasted kinda like grape cough syrup was right.

I haven't had a soda (or any caffeine) in about a month and a half. If I notice some in the store tonight, I think I'll pick up a bottle.

I've used it in a vanilla shake already - it was ok. I used the whole can and about a cup of crushed ice in my smoothie maker. Couldn't really taste the DP. Wish that vanilla shake tasted better. Wish MF would make a vanilla pudding to make my famous pudding shakes! Wish someone would share if they make a better DP shake recipe.

I'm just full of wishes!
