LW Chooses Brownies and Lemon Meringue

Postby Nancy » November 3rd, 2004, 7:12 pm

No cheating.

If all of the desserts listed below were sitting in front of you, which
would you choose?

Pick your dessert, then look to see what psychiatrists have to say about you!

After taking this dessert personality test, send this e-mail on to others,
but when you do, be sure to put your choice of dessert in the subject box above.

(Sorry you can only pick one)
[Yeah, well, LW is bi-minded, she can't decide on just one. She picked two, Because she can!)

Angel Food Cake, Brownies, Lemon Meringue, Vanilla Cake with Chocolate Icing, Strawberry Short Cake, Chocolate Icing on Chocolate Cake, Ice Cream, or Carrot Cake.

NO. You can't change your mind once you scroll down!

So think carefully what your choice will be!

OK - Now that you've made your choice, this is what research says about you!

ANGEL FOOD CAKE... Sweet, loving, cuddly. You love all warm and fuzzy items.
A little nutty at times. Sometimes you need an ice cream cone at the end of the day. Others perceive you as being childlike and immature at times.

BROWNIES... You are adventurous, love new ideas, are a champion of under dogs and a slayer of dragons. When tempers flare up, you whip out your saber. You are always the oddball with a unique sense of humor and direction. You tend to be very loyal.

LEMON MERINGUE... Smooth, sexy, & articulate with your hands, you are an excellent after-dinner speaker and a good teacher. But don't try to walk and chew gum at the same time. A bit of a diva at times, but you have many friends.

VANILLA CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING...Fun-loving, sassy, humorous. Not very grounded in life; very indecisive and lack motivation Everyone enjoys being around you, but you are a practical joker. Others should be cautious in making you mad. However, you are a friend for life.

STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE... Romantic, warm, loving. You care about other people and can be counted on in a pinch. You tend to melt. You can be overly emotional and annoying at times.

CHOCOLATE ON CHOCOLATE... Sexy; always ready to give and receive. Very creative, adventurous, ambitious, and passionate. You can appear to have a cold exterior but are warm on the inside. Not afraid to take chances. Will not settle for anything average in life. Love to laugh.

ICE CREAM... You like sports, whether it be baseball, football, basketball, or soccer. If you could, you would like to participate, but you enjoy watching sports. You don't like to give up the remote control. You tend to be self-centered and high maintenance.

CARROT CAKE... You are a very fun loving person, who likes to laugh. You are fun to be with. People like to hang out with you. You are a very warm hearted person and a little quirky at times. You have many loyal friends.

******** DON'T FORGET PUT YOUR CHOICE OF DESSERT IN SUBJECT BOX ABOVE BEFORE YOU FORWARD!

I HOPE that's me! The cold exterior is VERY true, though. My friends say I'm tough on the outside and gooey on the inside. ;-)

Well, my favorite of the bunch is strawberry shortcake which I think is accurrate except for:

You can be overly emotional and annoying at times

Annoying, maybe but not overly emotional...I guess it's expecting too much for it to be PERFECT!

OK, you asked:

'Diva' is used in English, but in Italian the male term is definitively 'divo', which is also applied to movie stars and other show business stars (not just singers). It hasn't negative connotations per se.

"Dio" would indeed be the equivalent, but it is not used. "Tenorissimo" is sometimes used, so long as the opera-god in question is in fact a tenor.

In pop music contexts the term diva is commonly used as to criticize rather than to praise. It is an approximate synonym of Prima Donna in its 'secondary' meaning of "a very temperamental person with an inflated view of their own talent or importance".

Just don’t start going as U/D (Unca-Diva)…..

Loose Lips

Postby Nancy » November 6th, 2004, 10:51 pm

I saw this in the September 2004 issue of Redbook Magazine on a page entitled, "You Reveal Your Most Embarrassing Moments"

My 5-year old daughter and I were in the grocery store, in line behind an overweight woman. When her beeper went off, my daughter said, "Be careful! She's backing up!" I wanted the floor to swallow me right there. Barbara Mast

Thanksgiving humor?

Postby LongWay2go » November 22nd, 2004, 5:28 am

A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a
bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's
mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity.

John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying
only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of
to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary. Finally, John was fed up and he yelled
at the parrot. The parrot yelled back.

John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder.

In desperation, John threw up his hands, grabbed the bird and put him in
the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and
screamed. Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for
over a minute. Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened
the door to the freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's
outstretched arms and said, "I believe I may have offended you with my
rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate
transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my
rude and unforgivable behavior."

John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. As he was about
to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior,
when the bird continued, "May I ask what the turkey did?"

Here is a pretty funny one....

Did we evolve, or did we McDonald-ize to super-size?
