Sorry, been away from the computer. Yes, I got some and my brother and I both tried it. I have to say, no offense to you guys, but it's one of the most disgusting things either of us has ever tasted!!!! It's like bubble-gum-flavored soda - nauseating and MUCH too sweet for my taste.

I'll stick to water and the occasional caffeine-free Diet Coke from here on out.

Obviously, I'm disappointed but no offense taken. To each his own. Yada, Yada, Yada! Oh, wait. There's a positive in this post. This means there's more left for me!

I think Big Red is very much an individual taste. Everyone in my family loves it except my husband. He can't stand it. Says it tastes like bubble gum. I'm so glad they have a diet version. Yum.

I haven't mixed a shake with soda yet. It seems like it would get rid of all the fizz, and I hate flat sodas. Do you add some more fizzy soda after it's all blended to make it fizzy again?

And does anyone have a suggestion for a cheaper Magic Bullet? I looked in Target and their price was about $70. Seemed like too much for a little gadget like that.

Guest - have you tried any online places like Amazon? Kohls often puts them on sale -- in fact, I believe last week they had them on sale for $59.

I use a Smoothie maker mixer -- they carry them at Target and Kohls and I believe they are about $39.

I bought a Back to Basics Jr. Smoothie maker from Bealls for 19.99+ tax - it works great! If you don't have Bealls in your area, they're online & you should be able to find smoothie makers just about anywhere for less than the Magic Bullet :)

Sometimes you can find them on those late nite infomercials for 2 for $49.

If anyone sees one, grab em, and we'll hand them out here for $25 bucks a piece.

The Magic Bullet is $56 for the Deluxe 12 piece set right now at Bed Bath and Beyond. If you get their sale flyer at the door and cut out the $10 coupon, that makes it $46. Not bad for such a large set.

Guest--I made mine kind of weird. I have an ICEE maker that I bought last summer. It has a canister in the center that you fill with ice and salt and then you pour your soda around the canister. Turn it on and watch it spin, kind of like making Ice cream. Then, it is a nice cold smooth texture just like the ICEE from a convenience store. I mixed the shake into that. It was kind of creamy and slushy. Really good, but not fizzy. It is also good with Diet Root Beer. I bought the ICEE machine at BedBath and Beyond, as well. But be careful. There is a kids version that has a hand crank. It only makes about 5 ounces at a time and kids drink a lot more than that. So, unless you really like spinning a hand crank, spend the extra 20 bucks and get the electric model!! Makes great daqueries and margaritas too. I know, I know. Not MF approved!!

OK I am the cheapskate of the group I guess. I bought a Hamilton Beach personal blender at Wal-Mart for $10 and it has worked great for me. It come with an additional sippy lid so you can just put it on and slurp right from the container you mixed the shake in.....Ok I am cheap and I don't like doing extra dishes!

Lisa -- I'm going to have to go to Wal-Mart and check that out... my smoothie blender is a pain to clean out, but I didn't want to spend the money on a Magic Bullet! Thanks for sharing your money-saving tip! ;)
