Did I totally screw up?

Postby siglamb962 » October 25th, 2007, 3:29 pm

Hi all,

Yesterday, I was really brain dead! I swear this was unintentional. We had a grill day at work and I actually had a hot dog! It was most of the way gone before I realized what I was doing. At least it was plain and had no bun......I don't really like hot dogs either.

I was doing so well.....is this going to totally throw me out of ketosis? I was hungrier today, but I am always hungry so who knows.......

HELP!!!!!
I am worth it!!!!!

Well, it probably wasn't the best item to have, but it isn't the end of the world either. You may or may not have kicked yourself out of ketosis, but what is done is done so just get back on the plan and move forward. Don't beat yourself up over this.

Hey siglamb ~ if the wiener was a regular ol' run-of-the-mill dog, you certainly got more fat and sodium than you ought to have, but that should not result in being knocked out of ketosis. If the wiener was turkey, even better. Well, not as bad at least. Had you eaten the bun, you prolly would be out of ketosis. It's generally the carbs that get you in trouble there...so......not as bad as it could've been. ;) You might want to up your water a little to flush out the sodium.

Doggone it!! But still...it was just a stumble ~ SHAKE it off!

Its protein, mind you, not lean, so the worst it will probably do is slow down the loss a bit. Just dust yourself off and be better with your next medimeal.
Fat burning is most critically determined by your carb intake, but don't go drowning your food in fat either.

I had a bad day! I really did. I had some onion rings as well. I totally forgot about it. I never realized how much my life revolved around food. I used to make excuses, my PCOS, I don't eat that much, etc. But, the last few weeks of Medifast have made me realize that I ate myself up to 360. I had a bad day but can happily report that I am back on plan.
Thanks,
Becki

Well, being back on plan is all that really matters RIGHT! We can't go back and uneat the things we ate. All we can do is be more aware of what we are doing (eating) and why we are doing (eating) it. DO NOT be too hard on yourself, it was a slip look at it and realize the situation you were in at that time and call it a trigger so that you are ready for it next time.
