I did it! And I survived!

Postby sandys » May 26th, 2006, 1:13 pm

I confronted my scale-phobia and came out okay. I went to Walmart and bought a nice simple scale last night and stared at it for about 10 minutes after it was in place. Just could not do it. I finally decided that weighing in the morning is the best-that's when I'm at my most optomistic. So this morning I took a deep breath and stepped on. There were no tears and I'm 10# lighter than I feared. Man, what a head trip!

I think I'll resist the urge to weigh 8 times a day...(You know who you are, those of you obsessed!). Once a week doesn't seem to be enough. I think daily is okay for now. I may even post on the weigh in forum. Keeps it real when I have someone to report to.

Thanks again to all the ladies who gave me the encouragment in my last post. I can't wait until I can post advice and encouraging words to the newbies who come after me.

Shake it if you got it, Baby!

Hi, good for you and congratulations on your loss. Sometimes, a scale can be an enemy or it can be a friend(to keep check of loss and gains). You are doing really well! Joan

Congratulations! I'm glad it wasn't as bad as you feared. And just remember, those numbers will be going down now.

Sandy, I'm so proud of you! That took a LOT of guts! I'm SO glad the scale said 10# less than you feared! Great job and I'm happy that you at least know your starting point!
