Diana, it sounds like you're going through a miserable time! I hope you feel better soon.

I enjoyed seeing the photos and loved your new business card, too.

Take care of you!

Diana-

Sorry to hear you are suffering with the sinus issue...Just wanted to encourage you to try the sinus washing thing. Though I don't own one, I have heard from some chronic suffering friends that it really helps them. So...I encourage you to try it. Make sure Mike is standing by for a quick rescue, if needed! ;)

Thanks, guys. I feel so much better, really. Antibiotics are done and yes, I TRIED the sinus rinse thingy. It's the sensation you get when you go swimming and get water in your nose -- no biggy!! Just remember to breathe through the mouth, not the nose (about sucked some of it down in a momentary lapse).

And I can't believe how much better I really do feel! Of course, drainage is one of my issues, so even tonight it feels like things are continuing to drain. But I hadn't realized how difficult it was to breathe before! What a difference!! After meeting with a new HA this morning, I ran out and bought one for Mike (who came home sneezing and congested -- uh huh). Hopefully, he'll use it.

I guess I'm going to have to update my tracker by hand. I weigh on Thursdays -- it was 182.8 (which I reported on the Support in Motion site, but I see it hasn't updated here). So, now, I really am in the 120 lb club if you consider my TSFL/MMT start weight of 303, and not my all-time high of 309.

Size 16!! I love it!!

Congratulations on hitting the 120# club!

Are you talking about the Neti pots? I keep hearing about them and reading many positive reviews of those using them. Keep wondering if it would be worth looking into for DH (allergies) and my mom (chronic sinus pain).

Glad you are feeling better!

the neti pot worked wonders for my son for the WEEK that he used it. *sigh* if you could only get teenagers to remain consistent...

Congrats to you MISS DIANA for reaching that 150# club!

Did I miss something? I mean, I know I'm married to her and all, but she never mentioned that to me.... :idontknow:  :scratchhead:

Anyhow, Di's been pretty sick this past 2 weeks... and it was our Spring Break. She even missed our 10th Anniversary party (and since I had paid for the Limo already, had to go ahead with). :( Then I got sick... darn bugs :x

Anyhow, glad you are better Di...

Love you ;)

Hmmm. . . I need to update that ticker. . . 183.

If I missed anyone in my smooch&hug fest, I truly apologize. I seem to have spares, here, so obviously not everyone got theirs.

Life's good. Life's great, in fact. It feels so good to feel good -- whoever said "if you don't have your health, you don't have anything" really understated it! It must be kind of like money -- when you have it, you ignore it. When you don't have it, it's the only thing that matters.

School's got about 5 weeks left. I have no idea what's going to happen with my position next year. I do know, however, I'm going to work part time for the district in some capacity. In the meantime, we'll have the summer to build our business, continue improving our health, and get a tan. (Ok, I'll be getting the tan. Mike doesn't tan; he burns. We went to San Francisco last weekend and both applied 45 SPF sunblock. I got NOTHING and Mike burned.)

OH! and we'll be playing with our new Wii. We got the Dance Dance Revolution mat. (ooo! ooo! ooo! Can't wait!) My sister and b-i-l gave us a second remonte and nunchuck, and some more games for our anniversary (10 years on March 28th -- I missed the whole party because I was sick. . .103 fever). We've also got the Wii Fit on order! We haven't actually fired the thing up yet, but I'm sure once we do, we'll be spending quite a chunk of our "quality time" challenging each other to a variety of games. We checked it out -- there are Wii accessories available through the BeSlim Rewards program! No doubt, we'll find something to spend our 5K points on!

If any of you are going to attend the Friday Night/Super Saturday in San Diego on May 16th and 17th, let me know. I'd love to see you in person (and, of course, Nancy will, too). The Mikester is staying home this time.

Hugs and smooches all 'round.

Joined Jazzercise on Friday, and went to the 5:45 a.m. (ugh!) class on Monday. I decided to skip it today -- still a bit tender -- but I did go for a walk. . . maybe a mile with some hills thrown in.

We have a new Wii system. Dayna's been having so much fun with Dance Dance Revolution (and has lost 4 lbs herself), that we got one, too. If I hadn't gone for a walk this afternoon, I'd probably have done some of that . . . now that I've got it figured out.

I plan to go to the 5:45 Jazzercise class tomorrow. The one bathroom thing gets a little tricky around here -- I usually shower first, but coming home at 6:45 means Mike's got to get in and out earlier than he usually does. Monday, I was pretty late -- wet hair, no make-up, parked on the street and just made it for the second (tardy) bell.

Thursday, I'm planning to go to the 6:00 p.m. class that has extended floor work. And Friday and Saturday, I'll play DDR.

Boy, it feels good to be active again.

Oooo, Diana! Do tell! How do you like Jazzercise, fresh soreness aside? I would love to find something that doesn't feel quite so much like a "workout" to add into the mix of my fitness routine in the coming weeks and months. I've been contemplating finding Jazzercise and/or Zumba classes.

Thank you, Katie! They're beautiful! And sparkly!

Hiya, Cyd. Jazzercise is fun, but there's definitely a learning curve! They have videos of the moves online so when the instructor calls out "Sashay" you'll have some clue as to what's next. There were still routines where I didn't make it through the entire choreography correctly. Didn't diminish the workout, though, I don't think. And it's not just the old dance aerobics it used to be. There's still a lot of that, but there's also a strength component. Sometimes it's plain old-fashioned crunches and curls, sometimes its pilates stuff -- seems to depend on the instructor. On Monday, the instructor even through in a little kickboxing number. And they try to create a fun, partyish atmosphere. Certainly, there's a community spirit complete with implicit social norms. In the end, lots of fun, and I run into someone I know at every class.

Right now, it's satisfying my desire to dance with Mike's desire to avoid it all together. :) I'm really looking forward to tomorrow morning's class -- I have my bag packed (my own weights, a bottle of water, an RTD for afterward and my Jazzercise ID tag) and my clothes (both exercise and work) laid out. As long as Mike's out of the shower by the time I get home, this'll work!

Last week got downright overwhelming, so I didn't make it to any of the other classes. We had a federal review, overwhich I was stressed and started having migraine attacks. (Luckily, the worst one was Friday after the review was finished.)

On Friday, Mike and I got the Wii Sport cd out. Thanks to Dayna again, we have 2 remotes and 2 nunchucks (the extender thingy so you can use two hands). Mike and I played EVERY GAME on the Sport cd at least once and he's STILL talking about how he KO'ed me in Boxing. He completely earned it, though! He was winded and sweaty when it was over. (I've decided I've got to play with a guy avatar when we box -- it just doesn't sit right that my strapping gentleman of a husband "did that" to a lady, even virtually.) For my part, though, I beat him at tennis and golf (handily) and one round of bowling. I'm a fairly decent virtual athlete! Who knew??

But, yes, as I was driving home from the final interview, I was craving . . . EXERCISE!!!   How's the personal trainer going, Chynna?? I want to talk to one about my middle to see what can be done, nonsurgically, about the current topography. I used to have the old Richard Simmons VIDEOS (2 of 'em)!! I loved them!
