Thanks, SoJo -- all fine! Was interesting, though. Hope you and yours were ok, too. We had some retrofitting and foundation repairs done a few years back. There was a real danger that the house could have come down in "the next big one" had we not. Don't know if that October one qualified as "coulda been da one," but, as MasterCard says, "Piece of mind: Priceless."
Hi, guys. Hugs all 'round! I feel like I've been gone forever!
I know this is a journal, but really they're more like personal bulletin boards on here, huh?
I've missed you all, and I'm very grateful for my hunkahunkaburlyman who keeps me posted (pun completely intended). I still haven't met Ovary Chick, but I'm looking forward to!
The fall's been a bit tough. I started both jobs on Nov 3rd. However, since my migraines immediately increased to 3 or 4 a week, I went back to both bosses and said something's gotta give. Whoever scrambles the fastest, keeps me in January.
I was out in Brentwood today working with Toni, the owner of Jazzed Esspresso Cafe. We're going to have seminars and support session there every other Saturday starting December 15th. She's even modifying two of her salads to fit the L&G parameters for us in two sizes (full and 1/2 L&G). She and her staff are all set up to help MFers out that way and will gladly blend shakes with coffee/espresso for a latte alternative. I LOVE this business!!
On the way home, I stopped by Burlington Coat Factory -- I'm in search of a brown jacket but not willing to shell out for Cold Water Creek since I'm still losing and an epiphany hit me: my self-image has indeed changed. I have figured out that 1X things really are too big and I need to stick with XL (not quite L, but getting close!!). Consequently, after I finished meandering through the shoes (who can help it? they're right outside the bathroom which is a Medifasters first and last mandatory stop in every store so equipped), I headed for MISSES, not PLUS. I gazed across the aisle -- couldn't see any brown jackets there, anyway.
Here's the irony: I had stopped shopping at Burlington Coat Factory for clothes a long, long time ago because NOTHING fit! I needed an Omar the Tent Maker's size 4X. I shudder to think what that would have been in real life numbers (since a 14 is an 18 in rl, it's probably at least equivalent to a 5X).
It just astounds me that not only can I shop just about anywhere I want, I'm not the largest size in the store. But the confidence I have walking in KNOWING that not only will I be able to find SOMETHING, but I'll get to CHOOSE is huge. I had this epiphany last fall when I was searching for sweaters to take to Sundance. But now it's becoming my identity.
To end the shopping story, I didn't find just the right brown jacket, but I did come home with two brown sweaters (a pullover with a turtle neck and a cardigan with big buttons).
And any local folks who want to join us for a cup o' joe and/or a Greek salad or a croutonless chicken caesar some Saturday morning, y'all come on down! We'll be at Jazzed Espresso Cafe in Brentwood December 15th and 29th, and the first and third Saturdays of each month in 2008, from 9:00 to 12:00 (9--Business Seminar, 10--Take Shape for Life Seminar, 11--Swap and Support Luncheon).
And simply because I haven't mentioned it, I'm married to the most amazing husband and am definitely the most incredibly spoiled bride in all of matrimonial history!!
