Hi

Postby dede4wd » December 3rd, 2006, 3:10 pm

Reporting for roll call at 182. I am down 10.2 lbs since my restart, yay! I'm THRILLED! Between the holiday and the "bar episode", I'd say I'm doing GREAT! At least I feel great! I will post on Tuesday my 2-week totals!

I've been thinking about "the missing" on the board. Until recently I was one of you. When I first went off program and started bingeing...I was still posting on the boards. Then I really started to feel like a fraud. So I went into hiding...just checking in on my friends every once in a while. Then I really went into hiding.

I shied away from the people that could have helped me. So many of us have been through all kinds of mitigating circumstances. So many people would just listen to me rant and HELP ME!

I felt like a teenage runaway. I was running away from everyone who could talk me out of it. I was a runaway from my TSFL MMT FAMILY. I knew if I continued to post, Jo and Lauren would give me a loving kick in the pants, Dogma would try to talk reality into my delusion that I needed to gain the weight back, Sojourner would give me a smart-alec comment to get me back to reality, Alex, Amber, Karli, and the others would hug me 'til I felt better and got back on program. Denise would laugh at me until I realized what I was doing (yes, denise laughing at me is a motivator!)

I didn't want the voice of reason no matter how much I needed it. Had I stayed, I KNOW the backslide would have been put to a stop around 10# instead of 30+#!

So, I'm back. I'm leaning on the forums a lot. I'm also trying to give as much help as I get.

Here's my advice...keep posting. Even if you did good in the morning, but fell off at night...keep posting. Even if you went to Taco Bell and spent $11 on yourself there...keep posting. Even if you're at the convenience store yelling at them for not having enough hostess products...keep posting. This board is more than how to make the oatmeal taste better or to show off pictures. WE are the ONLY people that know what WE are going through. This viewpoint has to be considered and read in any circumstance!

I'm also running across several people (MF friends and foks just thinking about eating healthier/working out) who are waiting to restart until January. I say, "do it NOW!" I was the same way. I re-started two days before Thanksgiving and made it through the mother of all food holidays. I was going to wait, but I realized If I waited a month or a month and a half, I was posponing the opportunity to lose 20+#'s in that time frame. No time like the present! My holidays will be much better now that I feel so much better! I'm not lethargic, I don't have the mood swings, I'm running at even keel!

Okay, I'm babbling. The moral of this story is...keep posting, we're here!

Hi

Postby dede4wd » December 3rd, 2006, 3:15 pm

Okay,
Now for the funny. 3pm, time for a bar...I got my s'mores bar out of the package, set it in the micro for 13 seconds (that way it's more rice krispy bar-ish!). Suddenly realized I had to hit the potty (hey, I'm on MF, we do that). Hit start and headed to the potty.

Came out and there was smoke...Guess what's right next to the start button? Yup, you guessed it, the zero! ARGH! Apparently this bar nuked for a minute and a half. I opened it, the bar was a CHARRED brick, the bottom glass plate looked like it had been in a broiler and the entire bottom of the micro was covered in a "fake popcorn butter" color!

Some scrubbing later, and a new bar in the micro for 10 seconds...I'm doing okay now. Boy does my house smell interesting!

Great advice, DeDe !! There is a tendency for people who fear they may disappoint others to feel like they have to hide away. It's good just to let them know that they are missed, cared for, and understood. That there is still a place for them here, and that their best interest is in mind. There may be guidence provided and helpful kicks in the fanny, but not judgements (hopefully not, anyway).

Just feel like giving an "AMEN Sistah" :D.

Welcome back!!!

Babble away, dede. I love it!

And let me take this moment to thank you for your kind words on my goal thread. It means so much to me to hear that I may have inspired someone. Please know that you are an inspiration, too!

workout room

Postby dede4wd » December 3rd, 2006, 8:48 pm

This is copied from the gymnasium section

Okay, I've had an eventful weekend.

I got my new TV installed, so my old tv & DVD/VCR went up into my new "workout room". As I put this room together, I'm embarassed to be out of shape considering the plethora of equipment now gathered in this room (including a fluidity bar/DVD's I still can't figure out how to get together!)

Here's the good news...my JP Pilates performer has plenty of room to hang out here. I ACTUALLY GOT ON IT TONIGHT! I did the beginner workout and daing am I sore! Tummy, back, whole core, that's good, right!

I can do this! Hopefully my thighs won't even rub together by Christmas!

DeDe

P.S. Anybody have a fluidity bar? I can't get the daing thing to engage and be all together and functional!

Hi

Postby dede4wd » December 5th, 2006, 7:48 am

Well, the soreness is pretty much gone, I'm happy with my pilates incident. I will continue it today!

Doing well with the program, haven't set anything on fire today (yet!).

Dede~~Your post above about hiding could have been typed by my hands. That is the exact way I felt when I was backsliding and I am so thankful I caught myself quick and got back on here!

I had to laugh because I cant seem to put anything together at times either!

Hi DeDe~
Hopefully my thighs won't even rub together by Christmas!

That's the day I'm waiting for!! lol...that's why I have to get back into the exercise thing!

I hope you had a great weekend (aside form your "charred bar" incident)!
Mine was 100% on plan! I even resisted bread and a martini while out with a friend. :pour:

I'm in the zone! :boing:

Thanks Tracey, my microwave still smells like nuclear granola's charred remains, but if you can't laugh, what can you do?

Hi

Postby dede4wd » December 5th, 2006, 2:04 pm

I've almost set a personal DeDe record...I just completed my second day of a 20-minute workout on my pilates performer. Very sore, but very glad I'm sticking with it. How many days do you have to do something before it's a habit? 18 I heard, here's to 16 more days!

two-weeks back in

Postby dede4wd » December 6th, 2006, 5:57 am

Okay, my two-week total puts me at 180.4. I was SO hoping to get to the 170's (even by 2oz), but no cigar! Oh well. I'm not going to cry about it!

That's 12lbs in two weeks. I'm THRILLED! I am feeling good and planning my 3rd day on my pilates machine. I might even try out my fluidity bar today!

I'm so glad I didn't wait until Jan 1 to re-start. I could possibly be back in my size 10's by Christmas! WOO HOO! I'm getting tired of yoga pants and sweat pants (I gave away all my size 11-12's!)

Good day! So far!
