Hi

Postby dede4wd » February 13th, 2007, 10:32 am

Thanks!

I finally bit the bullet and got on the scale this morning...171.2! I'll be in the 160's in no time! I feel really different now. Sinc last sunday when they told me I couldn't take my MF into the stadium, I got angry that they were going to make me cheat. My compliance is my thrill right now. I'm so happy for each day and am striving to do everything right.

I'm closing in on my next mini-goal...168 (that gives me exactly 20lbs to go!)...When (not if) I make it, I'm getting a pedicure...yay!

I recently booked a cruise with a friend. April 5th we leave. I want to be so close to goal by then...so I have something to race with (even if it's the calendar). I do better with something to race!

Have a great week everyone!

Dede~ Just wanted to stop in and say that I'm glad you're back. We sure did miss you.

Your upcoming cruise sounds exciting and an excellent reason to keep marching onward to that goal.

Hi

Postby dede4wd » February 13th, 2007, 5:27 pm

Thanks everyone! I actually made a really good real life friend on this site, Lauraly. She and I will be at goal right around then and I have a few days off work, so we're heading out for the 3-day cruise from LA to Ensenada and back to celebrate goal and give me something to chase! We're finishing it off with a trip to Disneyland!

No boys allowed, it'll be a blast!

Woo crooooze!

Plus there is the day trip to La Bufadora Blowhole - the highlight of any cruise. May the blowhole be with you!

Hi

Postby dede4wd » February 24th, 2007, 11:31 am

Well, I haven't weighed in a while, but I FEEL like I might be close to my next mini-goal...168. I hope so, I'm dying for the goal present...the pedicure. I have 2 mini goals...but they're only 3 lbs apart (how it worked)...when I hit 165, I'll hit 100lbs lost! Any suggestion for a good self-present would be appreciated!

I've been doing good on program, but haven't been getting the amount of water I usually have. I've been sipping during the day, but I suffer from "home toilet advantage" and although i consider my hotel toilet home toilet...there's porta-potties around here...'nuff said!

So, I'm trying to get a ton of water when I get back to the hotel room, I just hope it doesn't slow anything down...I'm dying to be back into the 160's...I'm so close...I can smell it!

That's all I have to report.

Suffering from "good enough"

Postby dede4wd » February 24th, 2007, 11:48 am

Hi,
Just wondering...is anyone else suffering from "good enough syndrome"? I have 20 or so lbs to go and I look back to where I was compared to where I am and I'm starting to think...I look okay, isn't this good enough?

I KNOW I will push on to goal because I MUST see it! I will then transition right but I have this argument with the five-year old in my head that this is good enough, I've done so well. I beat the voice down and tell it good enough is never good enough for me and I know it...but I'm just fighting it so much more than I was at this point last time!

How do the rest of you with not much left to go deal with it or are you not experiencing it?

Hi Deed,
That's why a goal in numbers of pounds is not necessarily the best.

If we make our goal "optimal health", we can always improve upon it and make it a life-long journey....:)

Very true Unca, Very true. I do want my long-term goal to be optimal health, but I'm worried about that because I have no yardstick to measure it by. I know I will reach my scale goal, then work on my fitness goal, then I'll be okay...just fighting it every day.
