Not smoking is going well...I'm actually shopping for a NEW CAR right now! Hard to believe I used to smoke a car payment, huh? Paying them to kill myself and smell bad! What was I THINKING?

Hey girl,

Actually it is going great. I haven't broken down and smoked yet either. I have an appointment with a lung doctor tuesday about my wheezing on exertion problem I have ( loose some weight.....duh).

I had a lupus flare in December and had to double my steroids to 20mg per day. I knew I had been retaining lots of water, but I had no idea. I had cankles everyday even with wearing my support hose. I mean Kankles and hippo feet. I honestly thought last monday before I started this venture that I had a good 40 pounds of fluid on me. I have been miserable. Fatigue, malaise, depression. Dr. started me on some diuretics and I have been peeing like a horse. I weighed this afternoon when I got up and I have lost 22 POUNDS OF WATER!!! I knew it was possible, we do it to our post op heart pt's all the time. But Wow! I feel better than I have in a year.

I just had to share this with someone. Thanks for being there.

I have A good feeling about this this time around.

Remember that "New car smell" lasts longer if you don't fill the car with smoke. I have never smoked - didn't even try it because I hated how my dad's smoking affected me. I know what he had to go through to quit though and I admire anyone who makes that commitment. As tough as it is to just stay on plan, you are also dealing with quitting smoking too - you should be proud of yourself for being strong enough to really make these major changes in your life.

It's a dark metalic grey, I think. Hasn't been decided yet. They have exactly what I want with the smaller engine, but...then I drove the bigger engine and realized what I'd be missing, so I'm torn...haven't decided yet.

Let's see, I finally weighed today...208.6. I'm only down a pound and a half, but I'll take it because Aunt Flo is here, I didn't drink nearly enough water this week (have to get used to using OPT's again now that I'm traveling), and ate all my L & G's last week in restaurants (unknown sodium content).

Also, I'm VERY close from leaving the OBESE BMI category and entering ONLY OVERWEIGHT! Nothing will thrill me more (except onederland!)

Hope everyone is doing well and shakin' it like it's hot!

Hi

Postby dede4wd » January 28th, 2008, 12:15 pm

Okay,
So I just did my measurements and weight for the beginning of the 100-day challenge. I'm excited because I do better with something to chase!

I took my measurements with a Home Depot measuring tape (don't laugh, I don't have a fabric one!) I hope I measured the right places...I did my arms where my bat arms are...I did my chest where the bra is and then did one including the girls. I did my waist where non-low rise jeans go and hips at the biggest part...thighs and calves were at their largest point. I usually don't measure inches (because I'm much too lazy), but it'll be interesting to see the difference after 100 days.

Let's see, what else. if I"m standing the right way...my clavicles are becoming nearly visible...not always, just letting me know they're still there! Can't WAIT for them to make a full appearance!

I've always been told...if you don't have what it takes...improvise! I figure if I use the Home Depot measuring tape through the entire challenge, it'll be okay!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm posting my 100 day starting measurements in my journal for posterity!
Okay, here's my 100 day challenge starting stats:

Weight: 208.8

Measurements (someone tell me if I'm measuring the wrong things):
Neck: 15in.
Bat Arms: 13in. left and 13in. right
Bust: 42in.
Bra: 38in.
Waist: 38in.
Hips: 44in.
Thighs: 25in. right- 24 3/4" left

Okay,
I'm taking this 100 day challenge seriously and using all the tools at my disposal. I even paid my $10 already!

I'm currently on my third day of logging everything I eat on TSFL support in motion (they even have the flavor infusers on there...just got them today!). I've entered my weight and measurements (with the home depot measuring tape)...I like being able to track everything and seeing where I should be whether or not the scale fairy comes! LOL!

I find I do much better when I take the time to fill out my meals and such in Support in motion and hopefully I'll start entering in daily exercise!

I'm still taking applications for a professional nag to yell at me about exercising every day, I'm having trouble turning it into a habit...even with all my new equipment at my disposal!

I posted my exercise all last week (when i had a chance to get on here) then i have been sick since the weekend (feelin much better today, eating normally). You seemed to be doing pretty well, with the whole pilates thing and stuff so i figured there was no need to be the drill sargeant. :coach: now get to it grasshopper!
