Day 1, 3 supplements "in" and I'm exhausted!!!

Postby itsgonnaworkthistime » January 11th, 2005, 2:02 pm

I've had the headache most of the day, but I feel like I could just curl up and go to sleep. Is that common also!?
Another hour to the next meal, and I'm starving. I keep drinking water, but its not really doing the trick, my stomach is growlin'.
I'll make it, its just a bit tough right now.

All normal. Have a pickle or some boullion. It's also no problem having an extra shake or 2 in the beginning. It will get better soon. Promise.

Hang in there!

Postby JeweloftheNile » January 11th, 2005, 2:32 pm

Hang in there!!!

Yesterday was my restart Day 1 and I know how you feel! I had the dull headache too. I spaced my meals closer together and kept a supplement in the "hole" By time I finished 1 I was shaking another and letting it stand to thicken. When I was hungry (usually every hour and a half) I'd drink it. I also had 2 fast soups and in the second one I put 10 cut green beans (canned) in it and that was really good. I just cut back on my veggie serving for my meal. I still ended up with 5 supplements, 2 fast soups and 1 meal for the day so you dont necessarily have to overeat if you have some of the "free" foods available.

Today (day 2) I feel much better and my meals are spacing better. Also I've been really busy today so no time to dwell on being hungry. (which tells me much of Day 1 was in my head)

I have been stressed as heck today but I am determined to hang in there!

I avoided the headache the first three days by having an Advil (just one) right after my first of the day supplement. No headaches.

Doesn't eliminate the hunger issue, but at least my head didn't hurt.

Thanks for the response everyone!

I debated this morning on whether I should pop an advil, and figured I probably wouldn't get the headache until tomorrow. I will be sure to take one first thing tomorrow. I did take it after the headache kicked in, but it just kind of sugar coated it, and its still there.

I made sure and brought a box of the shakes, oatmeal, soups and bars to work, so I would have them. I have been trying to stick to the 3 hour rule, so that is more than likely why I'm growlin. I plan on having a bar in about 20 minutes and that should get me through to dinner.
I'll have to get a jar of pickles and celery to munch on in between from now on.

Thanks for listening!

hey Maura,
I am a re-do too... I had the big fat headache and took some big fat advil. I also drank a ton of water on day 2 and that really helped also. I agree with the other postettes.... drink another shake....don't be miseralbe... you are talking about 55 calories as compared to 200\300 if you were eating another "snack"... oh...and a little bit of coffee seemed to help me also. Caffine is a vascular dialotor and seems to help my headaches anyway...

keep shakin'

Day 2 and feeling much better

Postby itsgonnaworkthistime » January 12th, 2005, 8:44 am

I went to bed at 7:30 last night. I couldn't keep my eyes open and my head was pounding. I woke up very refreshed this morning. I have a feeling it was a combo of the MF and caffiene withdrawl.
I know you aren't supposed to but I stepped on the scale, I just couldn't resist..... I know its all water weight (because I was running to the bathroom every hour), but I am down 4.5 pounds. yahoo.

Hey - nothing says you shouldn't weight yourself whenever you get the urge! I think everyone is different on this. I weighed myself each and every day on the program and still do. I found it motivating when even a few tenths of a pound came off and it didn't bother me too much if the scale went up or didn't budge for a few days. Everyone should decide what is right for them when it comes to weighing, but there are no rules.

Ahem… I felt my ears burning… Guido only comes out on rare occasions. He does not come out for a forgetful sign in. If he (I) did, Nancy would not be alive!!

Guido is the step up guy that only comes out if someone bashes the program, intentionally deviates, or causes problems for others. Though he has been known to eat his own shoe on occasion, he is pretty much just the stick up guy. This is his favorite place, and he treats those here like his family, and take pity on the soul that attempts a quash on one of his family members. Can you say relentless?

Mike for Guido.

For me often the headache is fixed by having a fast soup, or boullion. Seems to be a salt thing for me. You may want to try that.

Don't sweat having a couple extra shakes in the beginning or even moving your meal times up 1/2 hour or so. That's still the only way I can get through when I'm having PMS.

Stick with it, you'll be happy you did.
