Day one questions-

Postby Amber » May 21st, 2006, 9:16 am

Hey Group-
I've looked around & don't find answers to these specific questions...
Where can I find an approved foods list?
Should I continue my regular vitamin supplement routine while doing 5-1?
Are eggbeaters approved?
Dried chiles (reconstituted) OK?
Ginger/garlic OK?
lite mayo instead of ketchup? I hate ketchup!
I love food and love to cook. I can & will succeed on MF (and will come up with some dandy recipes to share)! Also, check out penzeys dot com; they have GREAT spices and spice blends.
Looking forward to starting first thing tomorrow! :D

Hi There Amber,
I'm on the run this morning but I'll try and catch a couple questions for you. The approved food list is in the Quick Start Booklet. Read and re-read it. If the food is not listed it doesn't go in the mouth :D Egg beaters are fine to use for your Lean in the lean and green. You really don't need to take vitamins. MF is packed with them and some vitamins are stored in fat and toooo much can cause problems. One of these is vitamin E. Others are water soluable and you just have expensive urine.
Mayonaise is not a good choice. It is full of fat. Ginger, Garlic and other spices are fine. Be careful with the meat rubs... some contain a lot of sugar. Hope this gets you started.
The car is leaving with or without me..... sooooo
Bye for now

Even light mayo is pretty high in fat, plus it has added carbs (usually sugar). I'd avoid it, personally.
