Day 5 Newbie Here....Go easy....NO, I didn't cheat!

Postby TG18 » February 11th, 2006, 8:58 pm

Hello everyone. Following the plan to the letter. Feel sluggish and shaky. I guess I was more of a carboholic than I thought. I only have a total of 18#s to lose  , so I hope I can do that in 5 weeks (since that's all the MF I have and I don't expect to need to buy more) ;) . I was hoping some of those who have already done this successfully could give me some pointers on how long the wooooooozy feeling will last.

If I continue to feel this way, I know I won't make it too far. In reading the posts, I see that most say they feel great and full of energy. I'm waiting on that boost....it most certainly isn't here now. Also if anyone had/has similar stats (see below), I wanted to know how quickly or slowly the weight came off.

Any and all comments welcome.

Hi,
Sorry NO WAY, JOSE on similar stats...I was way tired into the first week and then it got better. It hit me like no tomorrow on days 3 and 4. I slept for 14 hours one day I think. I even fell asleep on the couch and I didn't change or anything. I honestly don't think I moved the whole time.

You are doing well so far, but remember that you have less to lose, so it will not all fall off the same way it would for someone with 100 pounds to lose. Good luck, though, and I hope this works out for you. Don' forget to read the book about the plan to slowly ease back into regular foods. So, it might take a little more MF meals than you originally thought..

Thanks for your reply. I did WW in 2001 and went from 190 down to where I am now (and kept it off give or take 5 or 10#s here or there). I just decided to try MF for a change in point counting. Hopefully the transition won't ruin me.

close to the same stats

Postby hollyhouse » February 12th, 2006, 8:08 am

Hi,
I am close to the same stats! Although i weigh 155 and my goal is 118 but im shorter im 5'5
I am 12 days into this. i started at the wrong time since i got my period and it made things alot harder. I had the shakes (not the drinking kind either lol)really bad and i cheated on one day. but still lost weight!
I have tried every diet known to man for the past 7 years and NOTHING has worked! i can't seem to get below 150 no matter what i do! But i have a good feeling about medifast and if i stick to it i think i will finally be a loser!
This board is great!! and everyone thats on here are amazing and very supportive!
everyone has told me if you feel shaky have "Boullion soup" and that should help.

I am 155 as of today and started at 166!!
so 11 pounds in 12 days I cheated one day so i guess thats a pound a day!!
wooohoooo

then final 118

Welcome

Hi There,
Your body is still adjusting to the program. Are you drinking bouillon?? It will replace some salts that you are losing as I know you're beating a path to the potty. Generally when someone feels whoosy and weak that's the problem. Don't worry it won't last -- soon you'll be feeling just as terrific as the rest of us. I had whopping headache for about 2 days or so but ... just kept going and now I'm down 48 pounds!!! :D :D Whooo Hoooo!!! Oh, and you really do want to transistion out of the 5/1 so that you can keep all those pounds off for good. We don't want you to "yo yo"

Thanks for all the responses. I've stayed away from extra bullion or other "snacks" because I don't want to retain water from all the extra salt. I am on day 7 and down 7 lbs; however, I'm STILL shaking....and still woozy. Have to lie down cause I'm much too dizzy to do anything else.

You really should try the bouillon if you are still shaky. Just up your water intake a little and that should counteract any water retention that may occur. I really hope you try it as I am a mother and a worrier at that and I know you don't want to put me through excess worry :roflmao:

Now go drink some bouillon!!!!!

Bouillon

Hi There,
I think Lisa is right!! It sounds to me like your body is crying out to you to replace some salts. You are losing lots and lots along with the fluid. One of the things we lose is potassium. I wouldn't worry about fluid retention -- if you are that shaky you most likely need some salt. I'm not a Dr. so this is only my opinion. If this continues on you may want to get a medical opinion. It is certainly no fun being so tired and whoosy.

I tried the bullion last night. I feel SOOOO much better...but I'm a swolen blimp (I can tell in my fingers because my rings start to hurt). Pumping up the water today. Hopefully, this will help. Thanks guys!!!!
