Day 1 is done

Postby Sheri » January 16th, 2004, 9:51 pm

I made it through day 1. I have been lo-carbing it all week in preparation.
And am pleased to say I have lost 7 pounds in 4 days. WOW! But on wednesday I got a migraine-worst I have ever had. So today was a challenge but I stuck to it. Finally had to get some medicine from the doctor. He wants me to cool it on the program until we are sure my headache is completely gone. Also my blood pressure shot up-but is fine now. However I will not be deterred. I will not undo all of my efforts this week. I had planned to do the full fast but doctor wants me to try 5/1.
So ok I can be open to change. This is just so important to me. :!:

Good job Sheri! They say that the headaches go away after a few days. I had a major one last night but am feeling better today.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks Laurie & Marci. I do feel alot better today. I know I can do this. As I am prone to migraines and hypoglycemia the doctor may need to adjust my plan on Monday. But hey I have made it over the biggest hurdle - that first week. I dropped 10 pounds in 5 days. So I am

I start tomorrow, I wish I had the forsight as you did to start low-carbing it early. I suppose tomorrow I will go cold turkey. My only concern is the onslaught of headaches I know are waiting. I will however have one last 'resturaunt meal' out tonight.

Let us know how day 2 goes.

I didn't low carb in advance, in fact I pigged out on carbs the night before I started. It ended up being helpful, because I felt so sick all the next day that the first day was easy, LOL.

The headaches are very short term, and boullion helps!

I started today and pigged out for the last 3 days, last night after leaving our favorite restuarant sick as ususal because of being so bloated, I actually looked forward to today. But I know the - carbs are gone now - shock is going to be rough, I am a 'bread person'.

Hey Steph.......Stock up on crackers. They are a life saver. I usually have mine with soup but you can also just eat a pack when you just have the munchies. I think you are allowed to have a couple packs a day, but I am not sure whether it is just one or two. So better check with someone. They don't have enough salt for my tastes but you get used to it. I'm also a big bread eater but have had none since Thanksgiving Day. With Medifast, I am just so full I don't think about eating bread. Maggie
