I got my Magic Bullet blender this weekend (several people mentioned it and it sounded good) and it's great! I didn't think that a blended shake could be much better than the regular shaker shakes (they are good!) but wow! I put a packet of Banana Blitz and a couple of ice cubes with water in the bullet blender and in less than a minute I had the most delicious smoothie with nary a chunk of ice -- just creamy slush. Who knew a "diet" could be so easy?

PS Sorry about posting the URL in an earlier message!

Seaside ~

You're forgiven about the url...

Glad that you like your Magic Bullet - they seem to be very popular. I have longingly looked at them but so far, Terry hasn't sprung for one for me. :x

I bought a  crummy knock off one at Freddy's for about $20 and it whirled the shake but didn't crush the ice or even shave it - I used it a few times and it is in the garage waiting for the church garage sale next month.

I should think the Magic Bullet would make a terrific root beer float - I make them in our blender: slowly pour a can of diet RB into the blender, add a packet of Vaniller Medifast and slowly whirl (to be sure you don't end up with a volcanic fizzer), increase the speed and drop in several chunks of ice.

It’s every bit as good as an A & W Root Beer float – and just think! You lose weight drinking this tasty stuff!

re: sharing...

I know of others out there in Readerland who put both of their fists around their shakes, growl like a mad dog and froth at the mouth just to prevent their kids from taking a sip...

root beer float -- my weakness!

Postby Seaside » April 11th, 2005, 10:54 am

Root beer floats should be one of the official food groups. I'm going to try that this very evening, as I always have a 12 pack of Diet Barq's chilling in the fridge. I have a very expensive blender taking up precious storage space and it's going to stay that way now that I have my new toy. I can even make drinks ahead of time, because the kit has 4 blender mugs that have screw-on tops.

But the Banana Blitz has got to be the best of all the flavors (in my opinon -- I love my nanners, must be an anthropology thing :D ), and I like all of them except the plain vanilla. I think I'll get some of the sugar free peanut butter syrup and add it to the banana for an "Elvis" MediFast Shake. Hold the bacon. ;)

I just have a regular old blender and it chops the ice up great. It is only about a year old. I will have to find out the brand and let you know what it is. I love the smoothies that I can make in it. YUM! YUM! :guzzle:

Nancy, anthropology really has nothing to do with apes. Primatology involves apes. Anthropology is the cross cultural study of human beings throughout time. Even in physical anthropolgy classes, primates besides humans are really not discussed.

I bet we all learned something with that one.
I might still be a little confused but I'm a little goofy at times (I blame it on too few calories but those who know me, well...)

happy to say you're ALL right!

I don't want to sound too much like the stuffy college prof that I am but there are four traditional fields of anthropology: physical (biological; of which primatology is part); linguistic; archaeology and cultural. Then there are all kinds of interdisciplinary subfields, like medical anthropology and ethnobotany, which are my specialties (along with paleoethnobotany, which I would explain for anyone who is having difficulties sleeping ;) ). So the nanners go with ethnobotany and they go with primatology, and it's ALL anthropology.

Like I tell my students, EVERYTHING is related to anthropology somehow!
