Creamy Sweet Peanut Butter

Postby Mike » June 4th, 2006, 5:10 pm

Okay, so I had the munchies and I was trying to figure out a snack since I was out of soy crisps and tired of pickles (yes, believe it or not... tired of pickles). So, I had celery, FF cream cheese, and peanut butter (pure, no sugar added made from peanuts and salt).
So, I got to thinking, cream cheese and peanut butter.. how would that taste. So I tried something out.. and it was very good. So here it is:

4 T. Fat Free Cream Cheese
4 T. No sugar added Peanut Butter
1 packet Splenda

Mix well in a small bowl

Spread some (not all) into a stalk of celery (save the rest for later... lol.)

Enjoy!

Peanut butter's not on plan, though. Too many calories (about 100 per tablespoon, apparently), too much fat and I think even the sugar-free is too high in carbs because peanuts themselves have a fair amount.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

True, it is higher in fat, but the carbs in no sugar added are okay... 6g with 3 being fiber, so 3g net carbs.
I know we aren't supposed to have things with all the fat.... but sometimes desperation takes over.. lol

Well, yeah, you can eat whatever you want. But I want to make sure others are warned. A hundred calories per tablespoon is a whole meal - and a meal mostly made of fat, besides! It's definitely not a Medifast-acceptable food.

Hiya guys! Was just reading over this & thought perhaps a "legal" version could be made by whipping together the ff cream cheese with a couple of tsp of the Peanut Butter DaVinci syrup! Haven't tried it, but just thinkin' out loud :)

Not sure, but I think Nancy has posted that the FF cream cheese isn't a good idea either. Anyone else remember that?

Well, Folks ~

Here I am to burst your Medibubble again...

Medifast does not recommend cream cheese on the weight loss phase of the program, low-fat or not. Nix to both. Nix to the Fat Free Version, too.

A person can have either 1/2-1 cup of low-fat cottage cheese, or they can have 3/4-1 cup of low-fat cheese such as Colby, cheddar, etc. Cabot is a brand name of cheese considered to be 'diet' cheese.

Nope, NO cream cheese.

Attention Cheesecake Factory, no worries for you - the Medifast Chefs will not be your competitors!

Okay - I have been intrigued by this recipe since I first ran across it earlier today, and I *think* I have formulated a "legal" version:

1/2 cup ff cottage cheese, drained of excess liquid in a fine strainer (or letting it sit inside a paper coffee pot filter in a bowl for a few minutes)
1 packet Splenda
1-2 Tbs. DaVinci Peanut Butter Syrup

Whip all ingredients together VERY WELL with an immersion blender until thick & creamy...
:chef:

Served on a couple of celery stalks, you have a great alternative L&G for a hot day, ay?
Yummy :)

By the way, I was over this concept long ago and was put in my place by the powers that be regarding my mistake of using creamcheese whatsoever.
Please disregard all postings from June regarding this non medifast approved substance.

Yeah... darn those blasted non-Medifast approved substances!! :x :D

It was just so darn HOT here, this sounded so good! I figured it could be doctored up to be a nice L&G choice for me :D It was very yum, too!

FYI: MF "Legal" Cream Cheese:

1/2 cup ff cottage cheese, drained
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1-2 packets Splenda

Whip together w/ an immersion blender until smooth & creamy. Enjoy!

That sounds okay, although I'm not the biggest fan of lemon. My personal choice would be to make it cinnamon.
