Condiments

Postby Nancy » June 3rd, 2006, 2:05 pm

Hi, Kids ~

Many of you ask about using different sauces and condiments when preparing your Medipackets or the Lean and Green meals...

FYI: Suggested Serving Limits for Condiments

Sugar-Free Syrups: no more than 4 tablespoons

Lemon Juice: no more than 4 tablespoons (it has carbs...)

Sweeteners: no more than 10 packets

Ketchup: no more than 1-2 teaspoons

Mustard: no more than 1-2 teaspoons

Barbeque Sauce: no more than 1-2 teaspoons

Vinegar: no more than 1-2 teaspoons (the Medifast nutritionist suggests this limit but I usually use a couple tablespoons and have no probs doing so)

Olive or Canola Oil: no more than 1-2 teaspoons

Cocktail Sauce: no more than 1-2 teaspoons Be careful...

A1 Sauce: no more than 1-2 teaspoons

Teriyaki Sauce: no more than 1-2 teaspoons
Nothing tastes as good as thin feels...

Is it a little more if the teriyaki sauce, ketchup, A1, etc. are the sugar-free, low-carb versions? I would think so ...

Yes, I'd say so.

We just need to remember that all the little bits more eventually add up so we ought to make it a practice not to fudge too much because fudge = pudge!

I pretty much stick to sugar free/low carb choices. I doubt I ever go over 1-2 tablespoons.

Thank you, thank you! I had "asked the Nutritionist" on another site this exact question, and am still waiting there for an answer.
