Complete plan or 5 and 1?

Postby Fitzi » February 17th, 2006, 8:22 am

I started MF 12 days ago and I've lost 14lbs (wahoo!). I'm on the complete plan now (yes, my Dr. is monitoring me) and I would like those of you who have lost 50+ to weigh in on whether you were on the complete plan or the Lean and Green 5 and 1 plan? I'm debating on how long I should stay on the complete versus switching to the 5 and 1 or do a combo of the complete program on weekdays and the 5 and 1 on weekends. Any advice?

Hey, Fitzi, you are doing fantastic! Congrats on your success so far...

I have been on MF since November 10th, so 14 weeks, I've lost 59 pounds. I have been doing the 5/1 the whole time, and feel really good about my rate of weight loss. I chose the 5/1 because I really appreciate the ability to continue food in my social and work life. Being able to still take clients out for lunch or going out to dinners on the weekends with friends - to me it was a quality of life decision.

Additionally, for me, I thought my ability to shift into maintenance might be easier for having already included food in my diet throughout.

Glad to hear you are working with a doctor though, that will make it a good, safe process!

Best of luck to you!

Hi there. Welcome!

I'm on the 5&1. I like its flexibility and I'm happy with the rate of loss, too. They say you don't really lose much faster with the complete plan. (2-3 pounds total overall)

Good luck!

Thank you so much for your input! It is great to see your wonderful losses while on the 5 & 1. I've went two weeks now on the complete but I think I'll switch over to the 5 & 1. It will make it so much easier in social situations and I'm thinking it will help me to eventually deal with eating "real food" if I'm practicing eating small amounts of good nutritious food each day. I really appreciate your comments. Thanks again!
